I've tried this movement and it didn't feel right. So I stopped.
Shrugs are done with dumbbells.
I`ve done them on a Universal Machine bench press station......(facing away from the machine)......pretty nice.
I also used to do "Armpit Rows"....hold dumbells at sides of legs and drag up your body as far as possible,aiming to reach your armpits......hence the "name"....kind of a DB Shrug/DB Upright Row combo but pulling from outside quads to armpits, or as close as possible.....hold at top and squeeze the traps.....thank me later!
