Not too long ago, I posted something about how seeing excerpts from 90s issues of Flex made me realize how made up most of the editorial was. This, to me, is another perfect example. It's so unlikely that Shawn Ray would say Chris "rang" him so they could go to a place "nearer" and that things had to be "fixed in advance". Or that Chris would say that line about social graces. There may be some kernel of truth in that story, but it's obviously Peter McGough- or some other british guy- writing their version of a story that was probably largely made up.
