SoIm trying to understand why though?
Did he just max out at an early age? Or was he a lazy trainer? Why did he fizzle out? Anyone know
Apparently Mike almost died at the 1993 Arnold Classic. Hospitalized. Diuretic situation, (just like Beneziza and Dillett) but the doctors were able to solve the problem.
After that contest, Mike really then seemed to go downhill. He’d show up either too soft, or super lean but small (over-dieting)
His freak factor was gone. But obviously he was doing a lot of drugs. He died in his 40’s.
One positive: I don’t believe that he ever went the snythol route.
I would guess that laziness was probably a big part of his downfall. But mainly, his real problem was a lack of overall health. His body was not responding because he had started a death process, and he ignored the warning signs.
He should have retired from bodybuilding after the 1993 Arnold Classic hospital situation.
