The writer had a very specific idea about who Bond was/is. Would you be open to a white/asian/latino shaft or superfly?
Well, James Bond was damn right campy and laughable. Ian Flemings books were campy as all get out. Ever read Octopussy?
Yes, I would be open to a white/Asian/Latino Shaft or Superfly...but it would have to be done in a 21st century construct/time frame. It wouldn't fit in the 70s blaxploitation time frame---maybe the Latino would, if he were a Puerto Rican or Dominican or Cuban.
What I am saying is that, if in today's world in theory there would possibly be more than just white males employed in Her Majesty's Secret Service, due to the nature of today's highly volatile and diverse landscape.
So, I could see how a black James Bond could fit in the story. But, as I said before, I don't see how a black man could be a Norse God...it's akin to casting the African God Shango as a white male.
