I disagree.
And I bet there is not one parent on here who would not flip his/her lid if their 8 year old was being cyberbullied. And if you didn't, I'd call you a shitty parent.
There is a big difference between teasing, as opposed to hundreds of students all tormenting one kid. If people can't see the difference, then I feel sorry for you.

This has nothing to do with today's generations being softer. The kids 50 years ago would probably be experiencing and reacting the same way if technology was around. None of you were more tougher than the children now. You'd be shitting your pants if computers were around back then and hundreds of kids were tormenting you. You were as fragile as the 8 years olds are today.
There is a pic of this young black woman going to school on the first day and being tainted by white kids.
Today's kids would have been scared to even go to school.
Many of today's children are coddled by their parents. Given a lot because they feel that the children are "entitled".
The main thing about cyberbullying, is that one can log off. And one can say things back. It seems that many of the children just sit there and take it, until the dam breaks.
Kids have always been mean, and it won't stop. The children that overcome cyberbullying or any bullying for that matter, in my opinion are a lot stronger than the ones who don't or need a support group to step in (for non extreme cases) Because what happens in many of these cases it hows that whenever something happens, it's up to someone else to solve it. Someone is always there to hold your hand. And we are helping to teach and our children to be prepared for someone to do something for you if your feelings are hurt.
Bottom line, we live in a society where being a victim is almost looked upon as being a positive.
