That must be the standard getbig curriculum as that is what I am personally working on myself.

True, baseball and lacrosse are white dominated but that's kind of it.

I don't get why USA is considered objectively "bad" at soccer.

Sure we don't win the World Cup or have a major pro league and almost always lose when we play one of the top European or South American teams.  That is true of nearly every country.

We do make the WC pretty much every cup and often advance to the knockout stage.  How many countries can say that?  Many with even larger populations don't do this.

Agreed. The US soccer team have actually been surprisingly good for over the past decade.

It's not fucking Rugby dickhead. Rugby has no big hits it's a joke. Rugby LEAGUE is totally different. Rugby is the 4th ranked ball sport in Australia for a reason, it's fucking shit compared to what else there is even AFL shits on it and that's saying a lot. Go watch a real game of league his highlight reel is showing what he can do when he makes breaks.

You watch a shit game of Rugby and think that's what Jarrod Hayne has been playing.

Looks like a whole lotta grab-ass to me.  And this guy is going to get smoked.  Check back in after a couple of preseason games.  If he makes it that far.

Still a way to go, but more than held his own in his debut:

http://espn.go.com/blog/san-francisco-49ers/post/_/id/14403/australian-rugby-star-jarryd-hayne-puts-on-a-show-for-49ers-in-nfl-preseason-debut

Jarryd Hayne, the Australian import who is trying to make the transition to an NFL player, stood out for the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason opener, excelling as a running back, punt returner and kick returner with the second-team units. Here are some quick thoughts on the Niners’ 23-10 loss to the Texans:

A surprise player who looks amazing:An entire continent roared when Hayne put on a show. He broke off a 53-yard run from scrimmage, had punt returns of 11 and 13 yards and also returned the second half-opening kickoff to the 26-yard line after fielding it eight yards deep. He finished with 120 total yards (5 rushes for 63 yards, two punt returns for 24 yards and one kickoff return for 33 yards).

Dallas is resting 75% of its starters today.

Half of those guys won't even be around in 3 weeks.

Do it in October and then I'll be a believer.

Haha , a 27 years old that have  never played Football in his life  is the star of his team , oh  no NFL players aren't overrated .

haha oh brother .

Just delusional. That guy couldn't make the team on a Division I college team. NFL players are explosively strong and the top of the food chain.

6'2" 228 ?   Lol. More like 5'11" 240  He is a toad who will get smoked in the NFL.  Can't wait to see him beheaded in preseason.

Probably on some slow, awkward cut back move where he looks completely out of place in comparison to the other 21 men on the field.

We all know how this ends.

Supposed Euro Rugby "God" tries to compete with the Americans. Touches the ball 8 times. Gets injured. NFL Career Over. The End.

I have to remember to bump this thread in August when it takes place.

August preseason was the general consensus on Hayne's demise back when this thread first popped up

Whatever happens from now he has already shown gifted athletic genetics don't stop at the 'merican border

Don't see why that is such a shock

If American football was actually a global sport that was played and watched across the world - than the majority of players in the NFL would be born outside the US.

Hayne has had to return the ball maybe a thousand times in professional rugby league and the rule is when you kick in league, you present a line of defenders - you don't rush in 1 at a time because you'll get cut up by the fullback (which hayne was), who is always a player that will exploit staggered defences.

I like the NFL but fans seem to put so much emphasis on raw athleticism.  You can read it in this thread.  People talking about the size of people who will tackle him.  His height, his weight.  So little talk about what really matters - what he can do in a professional environment.  Ability to create.  Nobody ever really talks much about size and shit like that in league when you're talking about people who are there to break the line.

Honestly, I find it embarrassing how both countries are handling him.  Australian media are just being dicks and devaluing their entire sport and US media are looking like idiots for being surprised by shit like this.  Fuck, there are plenty of people in rugby who can handle special teams tacklers presenting themselves one by one to tackle the ball handler.
