Tom Cotton... badass VP pick for the GOP in 2016?
« on: March 11, 2015, 09:22:32 PM »
He's a former Army Ranger, combat vet.   He has balls of steel on this Iran thing.  he ran a farm and was a lawyer too, and House of Reps.
And ARK just changed a law, allowing him to run for pres (maybe he's thinking 2020?) while keeping senate job/running for that.

Sure, he might be thinking Prez... but VP choice might be a good one.   He brings the south, he's commerciall viable, decent look with a full head of hair and politico voted him most likely to succeed.

learn about him... he could be our Pres one day!

from The Hill:

____The office of the House minority leader issued a scathing statement Wednesday night saying her meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar Assad was part of a bipartisan effort — conducted through the Bush administration — to encourage peace in the region, and accusing Republicans of launching a "desperate" defense of their Iran letter to mask criticisms coming from both sides of the aisle.

"The desperate hyperventilation by Republicans and conservative talkers over the intense, national backlash to this letter has caused them to search for a Democratic equivalent to the dangerous precedent set by 47 Republican Senators," said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill. "The fact is, there is simply not one."

...Hammill emphasized Wednesday that Pelosi's delegation included then-Rep. David Hobson (R-Ohio), a senior defense appropriator; it was preceded just days earlier by a similar visit to Damascus by GOP Reps. Joe Pitts (Pa.), Robert Aderholt (Ala.) and former GOP Rep. Frank Wolf (Va.). And Rep. Darrell Issa (Calif.) met with Assad just a day after Pelosi did — a meeting that led Johndroe to comment, "We just don't think this is helpful."

"This visit was organized by the Bush State Department, executed by the Bush Defense Department, and officials from the Bush Administration's Embassy at the time in Damascus even sat in the meeting with President Assad," Hammill said. "As Republican Congressman David Hobson said at the time about the delegation's visit to Syria, 'I think we actually helped the administration's position by showing there's not dissension.'

"The comparison between the Republican Senator letter to Iran and Leader's Pelosi bipartisan delegation to the Middle East in 2007 does not stand up to any level of scrutiny," he charged.

IMO, Pelosi going directly to Syria was an admission "I dont have power to change a thing in my own country, so I'm undermining Bush by going to foreign leaders and promising to undermine him".

Exact same thing here - Repubs have both houses, but lack the UNITY to stand up to Obama.  They rubber stamped his ISIS plan, remember?   They rubber stamped his LIBYA plan, remember?   They quietly give him the power to do what Obama wants, then they talk big on FOX to grandstand about how wrong he is.

This "letter to iran" is about a handful of dudes running for president in 2016, and fundraising for next year.  Anyone that believes "oh, this letter is powerful and will change things..." is a stone cold idiot.  Just like pelosi, it's a desperate move to rally the base and make POTUS look bad.  Worked for Pelosi, might work for repubs too.

eh, it's a monster move to tell the leader of the free world "fck you, I'm going to tell our enemies that you ain't shit, and I'm going to destroy any fix yall reach..."

it's a desperate move, a monster move, a huge deal.  part of politics tho.  Remember Reagan/Carter 1980?  ;)
