It's most likely. Basic life requires less coincidences to evolve so is likely to be far more prominent across the universe than complex life.

First one looks like a cobra, second has human features, a head, shoulders etc... the third needs to eat to survive.  Why is anyone so sure that an Alien life form needs to eat?

Ok, maybe the percentage part is a myth. But what about child geniuses, savants, and other incredibly smart people? Surely they have a different wiring up there. What causes this?
