'Nazi Hideout' in Argentina discovered by Archaeologists

Archaeologists say they've discovered what they believe to be a Nazi hideout in the middle of an Argentinian jungle.

Six researchers from the University of Buneos Aires and La Plata Museum found the ruins of what is believed to be a hideout in Teyu Cuare Park in northern Argentina near the border with Paraguay, team leader Daniel Schavelzon told ABC News today.

He said they discovered the site years ago, but only began extensive research this month.

During World War II, it's believed the Nazis had a secret project building hideouts in hard-to-find places like desserts, mountains and jungles such as Teyu Cuare, Schavelzon said.

The hideouts where meant to serve as shelters for high-ranking Nazi officers in the event of defeat, he added.

During the past 15 days the team spent at the ruins, they discovered three buildings, a stone quarry and various artifacts from World War II Germany, Schavelzon said.

"We found German coins minted between 1938 and 1944, fragments of a porcelain plate that said it was made in Germany and Nazi symbols and German inscriptions carved into the walls," he said. "It's hard to prove the site was definitely made by the Nazis, but we're working to unearth more evidence to support this hypothesis."

The believed hideout was covered in thick vines and moss, Schavelzon added.

"It's been very difficult to conduct work there," he said. "Everything is covered in jungle and we have to use knives and machetes to cut through."

Schavelzon said he doesn't believe Nazis ever inhabited the hideout since it was never needed. Thousands of Nazis were welcomed in Argentina after the war by former president Juan Perón, who led the nation from 1946 to 1955 and for a short while again in the 1970s.

Gold & diamonds brought in 7 U-boats  ;) , the last "Nazi" ship arrived in July 1948 (yeah 1948).

Visit Argentina or Paraguay & you would easily notice that almost all doctors, army officers & other professionals have German or Croatian surnames.

There is nothing like exchange of presidential guards in Santiago or Montevideo, looks like Berlin 1941  ;D, just priceless show.

Current lady prez have nice German name  :D

Read something about big boats with SS soldiers and ukranian women travelling to Antartica in order to colonize it. Sounded like horseshit.

Operation Paperclip was the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) program in which over 1,500 German scientists, technicians, and engineers from Nazi Germany and other foreign countries were brought to the United States for employment in the aftermath of World War II.

Dr. Wernher von Braun explains the Saturn Launch System to President John F. Kennedy. NASA Deputy Administrator Robert Seamans is to the left of von Braun.

Wernher von Braun was the father of German rocket science. He invented the V-2 rockets, the missiles the Nazis launched toward England in the final months of World War II.

I'm pretty sure one of the coins is actually a Spanish coin minted in the late 40s by Francisco Franco's regime.

WTF is that coin doing there?

People seem to forget that, initially, Nazism, THE IDEAL, had an extensive following in the UK and the US. I mean, the elites of the time, American and British, cuddled up to Adolf every which way they could. Very little dissent too. The ideal of Aryán superiority was at an all time high in the northern hemisphere.

It wasn't until Hitler made the mistake of encroaching American/British business interests, and the later realizing the monumental opportunity a completely destroyed European and Asian continents presented to them, that gringos and square-heads decided to part ways.

The US is really a fucked up country. And the more you scratch the surface, the more shit you find. It's disgusting.

Discovered by archaeologists? Yeah really. The war ended in Europe 70 years ago. Why are people still looking for Nazi war criminals? Who do they think they are going to find? If someone was in the Hitler Youth in 1945, they would be in their 80s now.

Didn't the Nazi's have flying saucer prototypes and other weird scientific shit going on?

Hitler had people searching for the holy grail and the fountain of youth among other things.

This is an important reminder that the masses could and usually is wrong. All too often people think that because many people believe in something it must be right. It is a sad time in the world as we are starting to see nazi groups popping up all over europe now.
