No point in talking about god imho, whatever it is that created the universe, it will be something our feeble human IQs won't even be able to process, none of this god in a human image nonsense.
it makes sense tho to realize there is no god and that we re just animals blindly fighting for survival until one day we cant adapt anymore. Sometimes things exist without any meaning, they just are. It s a human trait to create, build meaning.
Apes probably invented the concept of god(s), mysticism, spirituality when facing the death of others killed by random events / natural cataclysm; they thought "why havent i been killed, i must have been "selected" by ..a father (god) or mother (godess) , a "spirit", by "nature" a tree, a rock etc.
Basically god is always a father who selects, pick, chooses. Just like our father selected, picked, chose for us when we were kids. Virgin mary is the perfect mother figure. Because of anthropomorphism we create all these gods and godesses based on the relationship with father and mother we had in childhood and extrapolated to random events. Our ancestors convinced themselves they were chosen by a father in the sky when it was in fact pure randomness that allowed them to survive while other died. It s also said that some people are smarter than others and inherit their superior knowledge that gives them an edge above other less intelligent people because of "god(s)" spirits, when in fact it's advices and education coming from caregivers, fathers, mothers, grandfathers etc that gave them that edge, not some "god".
