Another 10 weeks of dieting and you would have looked decent, and been a MW.

what killed you were the back shots. Glutes were way too soft and lower back carried a lot of water. Not gonna say you need to get leaner as you already know this but need to really get lean for the next show. Should not have happened with a guru, no excuses to defend him.

Do you have any back shots showing you were lean the days before the show? Don't recal any...

I'd stop delt training until you catch up the rest.

Agree with AJ totally and we've discussed this. Serving your country will open many doors especially if you finish your education. BB can always be a hobby as powerlifting was for me.

Lol ya it's unfortunate but to be honest let's say I came in looking like that. I might have made 2nd call out instead of 3rd. It is what it is. I know now what not to do. So I got that lesson learned early instead of it happening next time.

I also have noticed that navy Mike has pro level genetics. I honestly feel he is genetically elite and could turn pro in as little as 2-3 years. Would probably only round out top 10 in the olympia if lucky but may have a shot at winning some smaller Grand Prix shows. I suggest he hop on a pro level cycle including 10-22 iu of gh and insulin to help shuttle the nutrients into the muscle.

Yes, if NM has to ever go on dialysis, we will hear from his wife and family that he had a rare genetic condition that he was unaware of and the steroids has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it.

Here's the truth. That guru based "peaking" nonsense cost you $$ only to make you look worse on stage.
Next time avoid using any guru/coach and just go in "as is".

FYI, you made some impressive gains compared to where you started .

You shouldn't need a guru period.  It's not rocket science.  You weren't lean enough, you have another 10-15 pounds to lose.  What you thought was water, was actually fat.  My guess is you also used a diuretic, which just makes you look worse.  These gurus just rip people off, most of them don't know shit themselves.  You need more thickness everywhere.  Deadlift, squat, etc.  not being a dick, but you have no back, or legs.  You have delts.  Everything else, not so much.  For this show, to be shredded, you should have been a Middleweight.

NM...    hats off for coming back from injury and giving it a shot....  great learning experience...  and the scale.... no thanks,,,,  they don't weigh competitors on stage and mark their scorecards...  takes a few competitions to get shit right anyway.    "not enough tanner"...... "too flat"... blah blah....  3rd time I listened to friends who said I looked great a week before...  (like you did).   so i didn't change a thing the last week,,,, no water or carb games the last 24 hours...... came in full, had cuts and some vascularity.... easy win.... trained on Monday like usual......   I know everyone's different....   work on weak areas and have fun with it.... Semper Fi

Your example made me realize some important but of forgotten aspect of competitive bodybuilding.
The sport of BB was/is never perfect when it comes to contests.
BUT, you're either on stage flexing or out watching from the cheap seats.

Far more personal satisfaction to go for it, regardless of how you place.
