Yes.

Three years in the OHL (OHA in those days) and then four on scholarship in college (university).

Notre Dame had dropped their hockey program in those days.

Yes.

OHA....became OHL.

Referred to as Major Junior Hockey.

In those days there were 3 main leagues - QMJHL, WHL, and OHL.

That was mostly true then too.

In those days (I do not know the current rules) I could not accept the $85/week expense money. Basically could not accept any money from any Junior A team and could not play a game after turning 21 or lose a year eligibility. The school petitioned for you and you still usually lost one year of eligibility. If you accepted ANY money, you became a "pro" and were not eligible for the NCAA or Olympics. In those days there were no pro athletes in the Olympics.

No clue about the rules now.
