By not catering to perverts, the business will attract many repeat customers, who don't want be subjected to having perverts anywhere near them. In the same vein, not hiring perverts, especially where you are serving food, will attract customers, who don't want perverts touching their food.

It comes down to freedom of choice. As in your basic human right, as a free man, to discriminate against the people you don't want to deal with.

They'll be fine. Somewhere like LA or NY it would be a problem, but in Indiana I doubt it. The gay dollar probably isn't tremendously strong there, and even if it was, how many were actually buying pizza there? Even most of the straights that support gay rights there will probably forget about it in a few months or if they're hungry enough.

Like I said, it happened in Portland and the business was shut down due to economic difficulties. But portland is filled with a bunch of hippies lol. Hippies NEVER forget! :-D

It's not moronic, they should have the right to refuse business to anyone they don't want to do business with

But from a business standpoint IT IS moronic. When was the last time you heard of any successful business person (Zuckerburg, Gates, Buffet, Jobs) refuse to sell to any person who wanted to buy their product?

From a personal standpoint it may not be moronic, especially those who hold similar beliefs. From a business standpoint, yes, it is extremely moronic. Any business professor or successful business owner would agree that its a dumb move.

And we also have the right to say to them, "Fuck you, we are not buying your product." That is the consumers right.  :D

I see what your saying but still the government has no right to say who you will do business with.  If they want to stand up for there beliefs and refuse to support gay marriage they should not be targeted as some hate group.  Yes the business may suffer, but what is more important, standing up for what you believe or just going along with it because your afraid you're  going to lose out on some money

Chic fil A is worth 5.1 BILLION dollars!!  They can afford to lose customers. If chic fil A loses 500 customers, its nothing to them.

Small "Mom and pop" business cannot. If a small business loses that many customers, it could mean they close their doors.

I actually agree, but they are awful business owners. U want to bring as many people to the table if u own a biz. For example, i have small biz and would never in a million years share political or religiojs opinions publicly or with any client. ThT is succeSful business operAting 101. Now with generation nothing And social media...people think its normal behAvior to make sure everyone else knows your opinions. I will always be forever neutral publicly. This way, I make all customers who want to do business with me, happy...and i keep making dollars. Man my common sense is down right unusual in this day and age

Then it is up to those small business owners to decide whether or not they cater to polesmokers.  The government has no business trying to force honest people to accept abominable behaviour as normal.

I am just saying that pointing to a  5.1 Billion dollar company and saying, "Well they are doing well" is erroneous because that will most likely not be generalized to small businesses.  If they don't want to cater to gays/lesbians, then they may pay the consequences.

As I stated previously, a wedding company in portland did this and now they are closed. Its the chance they take.

No it won't. I would be glad to go to a business that only caters to straight white people. Most Straight white people would do the same. Before laws were passed that forced white people, against their will, to cater to the mud races, and now perverts, small white owned businesses prospered without allowing anyone but white customers. If it didn't work, then there would be no reason to outlaw such normal behavior, because those businesses would just have gone out of business naturally.
