What does everyone think of Burpees?

Negative.  All gaseous expulsions are titled in such a way as to inform what all happened to everyone involved.  This refers to the party upon whom the burp is visited.

Cherry tomatoes are the best, hardy and non temperamental and easy to care for.  Grew several different varieties this summer here in Australia and my two cherry tomato plants were the best, produced tons of quality fruit and had zero pest or disease issues.  Just watered regularly and fertilized once a week.

I grew some nice chillies this year also, constantly fruited and I have heaps of chillies, which I eat nearly every day, I like to add them to everything I can.  Grind them up and sprinkle, YUMMY !!!

I like to use drip irrigation controlled by a moisture sensor.  It keeps the soil moisture constant.  I position a small container of fertilizer under each emitter so the water percolates through it.  If it rains, the rainwater dissolves the fertilizer too.  Not spraying water on the plants keeps fungus under control, especially in the high humidity climate of Houston.

I see you like container gardens.  Many plants do well in containers with fertigation. (fertilizer dissolved in the irrigation water.  Essentially hydroponics but in soil.) Miniature roses go great guns cultivated this way.

I do like container gardening when it comes to certain plants (like chilies and tomatoes). I don't take it to serious, every year I just buy some tomatoe and chili seedlings and plant them in pots, sometimes I can overwinter the chilies and get another season out of them.  But I just buy some standard tomato fertilizer and use this on the chilies also and I have a large rainwater tank to water them so it doesn't cost me anything water-wise. 

Next year I think I am just going to do cherry tomatoes as they were so easy to grow and I had zero problems.  I had a host of problems with some of the other varieties I grew this year which was disheartening, we had a mild summer here and I think it affected certain varieties of my tomatoes, plus I don't have the patience to work out how to rectify certain problems. Tomatoes seem to be finicky and require a bit of a green thumb which I don't have.  I just like growing things that are easy and require little maintenance.

Weedblock fabric keeps weeds from germinating.  (so you don't have to weed)

Consistent moisture level is 90 percent of a green thumb.  So if you automate the control of the irrigation it pays dividends in good plant growth and you don't have to pay much attention to it.
