:'( :'( :'( :'( :'(most  usa minor leaguers aren't even making minimum wage pursuing their dreams. and these guys come over and get multimillion dollar contracts before they even play a game. phillies gave that lame pitcher 12 million bucks for 3 years guy can barely pitch...he was going to get a 48 million dollar 6 year contract before they gave him a physical... this is insanity...

That's an agreement with MLB and Japan so that Japanese players just don't constantly jump ship to MLB.

I believe the Cuban players are treated as IFA's.

I'm also a little boozed up, so I'd have to check that stuff.

Redsox signed Rusney Castillo (Cuba) to a 72 million dollar contract.
He's down playing triple A for the Pawsox, showing up in his Porche 911 Turbo  ??? ::)

Rumor is to trade Victorino while he's healthy, and bring up Rusney soon...

They need pitching very badly.

Yeah they do... Buchholz looked good yesterday, but it was only one game, and only against The Phillies.
They just extended Porcello for 4 years and 80+ million, hopefully he's not a bust here like some players can be.

But yeah, they need more...

Buchholz has always had the ability to appear ace-like in samples, even over the course of half a season.  But he's too inconsistent.

Porcello's $ seem awfully high for a projected #3, especially after the lowballed Lester.  I think their pitching is abysmal, and will get them over the course of the season unless they trade for Hamels or someone.
