overturned on appeal because his own lawyer admitted he was there?

shrewd move, if it works.  He should be irate that his lawyer would admit such a thing for the jury.

His high priced legal team put him at the scene and took less than one day — and only three witnesses — to present his defense.

They should have just said thank you to the Commonwealth for not having the death penalty and rested.  In Texas he would have been toast not to mention the two additional murder charges against him.

On an appeal can he take the stand?

No he could only take the stand if he was granted a new trial.  I see no reason why he would.

Haha!  Stupid vato should have taken the dead guy back to his house, placed him in the bathroom and shot him through the door five times.  He would have only received 5 years in the slammer- like this murderer.

How ironic that he played "tight end" in the NFL and now will play the same position in prison. :o

No he's changing positions to wide receiver in prison

I am surprised the die-hard sport fans on GB didn't defend him. We all know how crazy sport fans are.

I remember when sport fans were actually defending Joe Paterno.  :-\ :-\

I just had the feeling that old Joe was going to kick off....he was under so much stress and pressure I think he wanted to die and escape all the BS at that point

He threw away an awesome life because he couldn't control his temper

One minute he was at the top of his game, the next minute life in prison.

He won't recover.

Some shrink was on NFL radio talking about the mentality of Hernandez and how he's linked to numerous crimes in that in the end he wanted to go to jail.  He believes he's destined to go to jail and live the thug life.

The shrink is probably correct about Hernandez.  Not much of a life in prison though.  My cousin made the mistake of beating up an off duty cop.  Cop identified himself as a cop, but my cousin was drunk and kept hitting him.  The judge handed him a 5 year sentence without blinking.  He was up for parole a few times, but never got it.  Working out is all he's got.  Luckily, he's a big mean looking dude.

he's suspected in TWO incidents aside from this one, right?  One he was charged with, will face now.  the other was years ago, identical MO and cops just didn't catch him for it?

Imagine the shit he's done that we haven't heard about lol.  We all know most bad guys get away with most of the shit they do, most of the time.  They solve what, 17% of crime?

Hernandez is probably laughing in his cell at how much shit he did before being caught.

Guy is convicted and going to jail for life.  So what if he's found guilty in Florida.  Will they transfer him there for the death penalty?

It was really noticeable during his sentencing. Didnt have a care in the world. I looked more worried before my first pin

He is a typical hood rat.  Watched too many prison films and feels that he'd be a "real man" there.  Street cred bullshit.  In a few months he'll be missing his mansion.  For the last while he's been in a holding cell and probably treated decently thinking prison isn't so hard.  Wait until he goes to a fed pen now in general population.  He'll realize what hell truly is.  he'll last as long as his money does in buying protection.

I always think its so fucking gay when guys like him pull this shit. Could be banging hot whores for the rest of his life. Threesomes, foursomes, whatever the hell taboo shit might strike his fancy. And yet, they only want to hang out with their boys and will seemingly do whatever they can to end up in prison with men for the rest of their life.

Seems the prosecution can't find a smoking gun.  No murder weapon, a weak link to hernandez being at the scene.  Seems there's not enough evidence to prosecute the caveman.  Money talks in court...
