It's a bummer too.

Some dude is dead. Taxpayers will pay millions in the civil suit that will follow. Some cop somewhere in the future will be killed because "all cops are murdering pigs that hate spookie". It's a real bummer.

Because of my years of powerlifting and bodybuilding I know LOTS of cops. I've trained, travel with, competed against, sold drugs to, bought drugs from, and partied with many cops. I've heard cops say (about a cop killed), "Dude was an asshole. He should have been shot years ago. Sure I'll go to the funeral- and get paid OT... and don't think we won't bring this up when we negotiate out next pay raise..."

Cops just need to learn that "shoot first and ask questions later" is just a joke, in real life you can't really shoot people as your first option.  You can't kill people to resolve your problem every time.

I think racism is a bigger problem then it was 10 years ago. You have a massive resurgence of anti-black rhetoric, anti jewish movements and all of a sudden lots of anti asian talk (unrelated to getbig).

It could be we simply are getting to see more videos / comments than ever so there is just an illusion that there is an increase in racism, but I don't know.

WHAT WE DO HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT is trigger points. Right now I would say the pot is cooking, lots of things are rolling around in the pot, anger stress etc. Historically trigger points involved poverty and financial collapses. Right now with the stock market high, unemployment low, consumer confidence at a record high etc. the chances are low of a financial stress trigger point.

YES, I know the argument that all the numbers are fudged and the real unemployment is 105% and all the homes and cars being sold are all to Russian and Chinese billionaires, but I am trying to have a real conversation here not a tinfoil hat club gathering.

They could not give 2 fucks about solving crimes. Go to a cop shop to report a crime here and they will ask for money to investigate it.

They will of course, bust enough crims for drugs etc for the press.

They extort business, run prostitution, make money from human trafficking.

They do not prevent theft, burglary, traffic crime, violent crime and in most cases perps get away with it.

Yet on the whole, the place is fairly peaceful.
