I've never heard of this happening before.

Without a doubt, I think we can all agree... Without a video of this recent shooting, the cop's story holds up and the cop is never charged.  He paints the events his way, he claims they were closer, a taser found near body, and this goes down as a GOOD SHOOT.  I think we can all agree on this.  The bad guy is dead, the cop is a hero, and that's the end of it.   Makes you wonder how often incidents like this happen.  

No we can't all agree. CNN reported last night that there were already questions about his story among the cops prior to the video release and the investigation, both by state and federal, would have likely raised serious red flags

The cop is white. Your "bad guy" here is black. Under no imaginable circumstances, regardless of how legit this shooting might have been, the officer would never have been considered a hero. Nor would it have been the end of it.

the presumed innocent thing is a little vague.. If I presume someone innocent, why would I arrest them? Why would they sit in jail until trial often times? If someone is swinging at me.. it's a little tough to presume them innocent of attempting to assault me.. can you expound? Because I think "presumed innocent" mainly deals with the burden of proving guilt at trial

If you presume the American in the car you just stopped has a gun and is ready to shoot you, then you are not serving and protecting that American citizen, which you sworn to do when you got your job.

I could post a string of videos about what happens when you let your guard down approaching a vehicle on a traffic stop. I'm not advocating walking up with gun drawn.. I am advocating until you know who you are dealing with, you are better off assuming the worst. That's how ALL officers are trained, I agree with it.  IF someone embezzles, you don't die

And trying to explain the circumstances surrounding the cops decisions is inconsequential because the act of killing someone you are sworn to serve and protect prevents you from doing such a thing.

Years ago.. cops working the night shift had limited places to get coffee. There weren't the 24 hr places there are now so the Donut shops were it.. kinda became a tradition. I can't tell you the last time I've been in a donut shop but there are IHOPs and a few other places open 24 hrs these days.
