The change is insane. Don't even look like the same people. Platz at least still has the hair.

Platz will be 60 this year.  Not bad at all.  Lotsa hair.  Still training.  Hell, still walking what with all those squats he did.  Looks like no problems.

Considering how narrow his stance was Im surprised he still has knees

This makes me wonder just how many cardiovascular & facial surgeries has Ah-nuld had?  It also amuses me that Albert Beckles is the only one from the 80's who besides being freakin' 80 goddam years old doesn't look like he'll die tomorrow.

I hope no is pitifully dumb enough to believe a man can go from looking like the below pics to looking as he does in the opening pic simply because he "retired" from bodybuilding.  ^Thats a PED destroyed body.  No two ways about it.  I posted (3) because this guy was THE guy who really got me interested in bodybuilding, not Ah-nuld or Zane or Lou.  I can guaran-damn-tee you I won't look like that at 60.

(2) excellent examples of what steroids do to you in end...if you survive.

More like examples of what MASSIVE amounts of AAS + diuretics + GH + Insulin + recreational drugs + unhealthy lifestyle over decades do to you... and keep in mind that
as far as I remember Tom Prince stopped training at all after his health problems.

He was an IV opioid addict for a long time and I'm pretty sure that he used other recreational drugs as well.

From my experience and that of others that I know and talked to using AAS in moderation is not as bad as a lot of people think.

I'm not saying that it's a good idea to use steroids (except for HRT when you're old maybe) because it is not - it does have side-effects even when used in moderation, it will
most likely have long term effects on your endogenous production when used for long periods of time (and most users will stay on for a long time...) and it's certainly not going to extent your life and
all that just for some extra muscle, strength and sex-drive...but if that's what makes you happy then who are you to judge?

I have used steroids and I'm sure I would not have been able to get to the level I am today without them but I have also trained consistently for well over a decade no matter if on or off and I've spent
quite a few years before using any gear to built a solid natural base. I have always used my brain - well of course the decision to take gear was not a rational one but I mean after that decision was made anyway - and except for a few "experiments" I've always used small amounts and always thought of it as an extra - or "the finishing touch"  ;D - instead of the main factor when it comes to building muscle and strength.

I never felt like cheating anyone except for one time that I was competing in an IPF national competition and I was sure that some of the others were not using. I was always as open as one could possibly be in regards to my use. I was born with crappy ass genes for building strength and muscle, pure ecto who sucked at sports but was a chess champion at 13 and I have to admit that I was and still am often quite jealous when I see guys with great genes who just have to look at a dumbbell and grow. I thought of the gear as some bonus to even out those differences in natural hormone production. I don't think that just because I was born with crappy bbing genes that I am somehow not allowed to have a good physique ... I mean I already have to accept the fact that I will never be as big and strong as I would like to be but since there is a way to get closer to this I decided that it was worth it for me to some degree. I would not go ahead and use massive amounts now and try to force my body to grow because at some point the negative aspects outweigh the benefits but everyone has a different view on this. For some it's not worth it to take anything at all while others think it's worth it to take huge amounts and risk more to "chase their dream". I'm sure some will regret their decisions and hell maybe even I will regret mine but that is life and even though there are a few decisions that I really regret I would not want to change a damn thing because failures and success alike determine who you are and I am happy overall so what?

I can go off steroids for more than a year and still look decent though I have to admit that my sex drive is almost non-existant for at least 3 months but more like 6 usually which obviously sucks and can and might lead to some sort of addiction (which we call TRT nowadays). I have had lots of check-ups done over the past decade and it seems that at least for me steroids do not fuck up everything per se. I have had issues with high BP (not crazy high but up to 140/90) but that was more due to water retention than anything else and once I dropped the water the blood pressure was back to normal. I had slightly elevated liver values after taking oral steroids but nowhere near as high as some would think and they dropped down quickly afterwards... I'm pretty sure that I would not be as healthy as I am today if I had chosen a different path because before I got more serious about bodybuilding I was starting to drink heavy at any party and take rec. drugs and that fucks you up a lot quicker and worse than AAS could ever do. Nowadays I drink maybe 3 times per year, watch my diet, do both cardio and weightlifting and I am in general a lot more concerned about my body and health than the majority of people who don't bodybuild.

The loss of muscle when coming off is of course inevitable and very obvious to me and used to be quite hard on me but now that I changed my thinking and also realized that regular people don't really see the huge difference anyway or even like it better when I'm off it is not a huge problem anymore like it used to be (like I would not go swimming at all when off and would always cover up my whole body in longsleeve shirts and XXXL clothes). I went from 185 to 230lbs depending on bodyfat/water levels and of course AAS in the past couple of years but I'm trying to find a good balance with my diet etc. to stay around 200lbs from now on.

So all in all I would say that I would not recommend steroids to anyone but I would also not talk anyone out of it. Everyone has to find what's right for them and I know people who are in their fifties and who I absolutely believe when they say that they have no regrets about steroids... I do know some bitter naturals though that's for sure ;) Alright that's it another loooong-winded post comes to an end, I know I'm having trouble to get my point across in just a few short sentences but I think it would be alot easier for me in my mother-tongue so forgive me or simply don't read  ;D

This is what I look like when off for a longer time .. and I'm sure some will tell me "bwahahaaha you needed steroids to look like that? I know a natural who's been training for 11 months with bigger arms than you.." and yeah I know that but everyone's different and I surely did train my ass off but I was simply not made to ever have >18 inch arms.

And yeah .. MELTDOWN  >:(

I'm pretty sure that GH is the reason for their large heads (hands as well).

Look at people with acromegaly they all have huge deformed heads and hands.

You are brilliant - I mean. They certainly have ruined Sly and Arnold's lives... And my very elderly uncle who uses test in his late 70's.. He has a friend 84 or 85 that looks incredible and stays on 40-60 mg/ week...

Abuse is fucking ignorant - but so is not using any test at all....  Mid 40's male that I know :) - only needs 75mg/test week done the RIGHT way... Nothing else - but he does "blast" 250/week for 8 weeks twice a year... 19 inch solid arms at about 10% bf (REAL numbers - but the way the retards on this board estimate bf he would be 5-7%.
