Anyone run out to buy an iwatch?
« on: April 11, 2015, 12:57:24 PM »
Or should I say pre-order?  I checked it out yesterday.  For a basic stainless steel it would be $1000.  Fuck them.  A grand for a digital watch that will be outdated in about 1 year.  You know Apple probably put 10% of the functionality they own into it knowing that for the new few releases they'll just add more functions as "new"  The gold with a cheap leather strap is going for $17K.  For $17K I can get a real nice IWC watch that in all forms of mechanics would blow this ishit out of the water.  I read somewhere that Apple's margin is 90% with this watch.  Fuckers paying $17K for something that cost Apple $1500 to make and that's just probably the cost of gold for them.

Suckers gonna suck suck suck suck....

Haven't seen the value yet. Plus, I like real mechanical watches too much.

My thoughts also.
They going to do there normal trick
& bring out a new one each year with added
Technology they already have.
Far better to buy a good Swiss made watch.
Money better spent.

Through work I was able to get the $1000 version for $900.  This is a steal since you know this will never be on sale.

Real steal when you have a hunk of junk watch you won't want to wear that you'll never be able to sell in two years from now.  How many still rocking the iphone 3 or 4?

It's like earrings used to be, back in 1988... straight if you have it on the left forearm.

It's crazy how often people think "get BIG" is some sort of penis enlargement site.

I'm always like "my time on getbig has made me a bigger and better man" and they snicker.  Snicker, I tell you.

My arm mass and symmetry prevent me from wearing an iwatch.  My lawyers are talking to their lawyers right now.

I would like to see them bring out a health band with all the sensor tech in. Not interested in the watch, prefer a quality swiss mechanical watch.

I am so old school that I just had my Seiko kinetic watch repaired another time. Almost 30 years ago, a coworker gave me a used Seiko watch. It still keeps perfect time. When I wanted something more fashionable, I bought a new Seiko watch. It is the newer one that I've had repaired several times. Both watches are kinetic. I probably should have just trashed the newer watch and used the older one which has been a trooper.

With time reminders everywhere, watches are kind of passé. I often just check my smart phone for the correct time and date.
