Anyone got experience with TITAN-Homegyms?
« on: April 12, 2015, 12:05:18 PM »
I always made fun of Homegyms and All-in-one equipment, but as I find my local gyms more and more annoying at rush hour, despite tight teeny girls in sweaty gym panties, I frequently thought about getting a homegym for my basement. Problem is, to meet the requirements for a professional athlete as myself :D the equipment I use at my gym regularly would cost me approx 35-45k. Not that I couldn't afford it, but thinking that I could train for that kind of money in my gym approx for the next 150 years makes me a lil bit uneasy regarding the principle of proportionality etc. ;)

Now I discovered this stuff: Seriously, this station looks amazing, there's hardly anything you can't do in there. Anyone got experience with TITAN-homegyms? Costs around 6k. When u get a decent set of dumbbells in addition to that, maybe one or 2 more benches, mirrors and a TV for the wall, you're set imo. Cost-benefit ratio seems unbeatable. Or am I naive and the station is crap? ???

That's actually the older version, the one b4 is a lil bit advanced:

Why not get a quality power rack, a good sturdy bench, a quality 20kg bar and 500 pounds of free weights? Gotta be cheaper than this monstrosity.

Haha! But judging by the picture, it can support multiple homosexuals working out concurrently.

HAHAHA exactly!

Imagine being stuck with that massive pile of steel and what a waste it is.

Plus, with cast iron free weights, you can cooks some great pizzas on them.

The real key to working out at home is to have everything ready to go as in your exercises selected, weight loaded on each exercise, dumbbells ready.  You can get a 20 plus set workout done very quickly.  I just got done with shoulders about 5 minutes ago.  Did 25 sets in 30-40 minutes.

Just make sure that you have enough room for it.... And make sure that your ceilings are high enough... and get The proper flooring first

Absolute garbage

For that much, even if you were too retarded to figure out how to use craigslist, you could buy a rack, bar, DBS and a free motion crossover, plates and a good leg press brand new

I have a hammer leg press and chest press,DBS from 20-170, rack, bars, a shitload of plates, cable machine, strive row, treadmill etc and it cost me less than 1/2 the cost of that junk

Actually I don't think it's that expensive at all considering the variety of exercises you can do with it. It's almost an entire gym in one block, hell they even added a pecdec/reverse on the side. I just don't know whether the movements are stable/smooth or shit, so I asked for users having experience with a facility like that.

But it was to be expected on GB that mostly guys who don't workout, who've never seen or trained with anything like that, crawl outta the woodwork and bawl "what a crap" with several lemmings to follow. ;D

To me a rack with a barbell is too boring, I need variety in my workouts. I rather stay in the gym than buying a rack, a barbell and a set of dumbells.

Actually, those of us who DO train realize that it need not be boring and there's a million ways to incorporate variety into a workouts other than doing seated exercise on stationary machines.

Boring workouts with racks/barbells and dumbbells are more the result of lack of knowledge or creativity, rather than the equipment itself.

He absolutely loved it, he paid near on ten grand for it I think.  He was someone who preferred to train at home, me I prefer the gym.  And for ten grand that's a lot of gym membership right there, so I never understood the investment, and like I said, when it came time to move the thing it was a bastard, a quadrillion parts, shit gets lost, forget how to put it back together etc.  But yeah, he loved that thing, I haven't seen him for years so I don't know what happened to it.  He was in pretty decent shape too, not a bodybuilder, just loved training and keeping fit, he is a true lifetime natty.  Here is a pic I took of him in one of his lean phases.
