It's like the teacher who bangs a student, then asks the judge for a light sentence because she is a teacher.  Only in this case, dude wasn't even a cop, he was just pretending.

did someone actually make that claim?

I'd be surprised if this guy serves any time but he sure as shit isn't getting a life sentence

they will probably send him home with an ankle bracelet or maybe a year or two at some minimum security type place

Well, yeah, imagine spending youre remaining years in prison. Then again, many people live well into their 90's. Shit, this guy may spend the next 25 years in jail if he lives long enough. My grandma is 93.
