odds say one or both have over-trained, based on video footage.  both are cherry pickers now.  no matter what you see on the screen, vegas will make it a split.  if fmw can pot shot successfully, he wins the SD. if manny can hit him anywhere (punch stat don't even matter in boxing anymore) and throw 70 punches a round, he will get the SD because it's worth another mega-fight to vegas.

Floyd Mayweather believes he is a better boxer than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

The 38-year-old welterweight, who is undefeated in 47 professional fights, plans to cement his legacy by beating Manny Pacquiao when the two meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2 in the most anticipated match of the modern era.

The contest, which will be screened live on Sky Sports Box Office, is set to be the richest fight in boxing history with an anticipated generated income in excess of $300m.

Pacquiao has been beaten five times in his career but has won world titles at six different weights, while Mayweather’s flawless record means he is rarely modest about his abilities.

Mayweather says he has already eclipsed the careers of Robinson and Ali, the man widely regarded as the greatest boxer in the history of the sport.

Robinson is regularly cited as the greatest 'pound-for-pound' fighter and is the commonly-accepted gold standard for non-heavyweights with 173 wins in 200 professional bouts.

“No one can ever brainwash me to make me believe that Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali were better than me,” Mayweather told ESPN.

“But one thing I will do, I’m going to take my hat off to them and respect those guys that paved the way for me to be where I’m at today.”

Mayweather specificially referenced Ali’s 1978 defeat to Leon Spinks as an indicator of his own superiority, and was also critical of the latter’s famous ‘rope a dope’ tactics in his 1974 world heavyweight title win over George Foreman.

“Leon Spinks only had seven fights,” he said. “Never put a fighter in there with Floyd Mayweather with seven fights.

“Take punishment and let a man tire yourself out from beating you? You hit him with a few punches and go down and quit and you want to be glorified for that?”

I believe this will be an easy 12 round decision win for floyd. His place as an all time great is already established and he should retire after he beats pacquiao. There is no one left to fight and he stands a good chance of getting beat these days if he continues.

Floyds personality makes people view him in a more negative light i believe. In the decades after he retires though he will get his credit as one of the very best skilled fighters of all time.
Career wise, he can't compare with guys like Ali or duran, and he's missed out on not having a proper rivalry like hagler, leonard, hearns and duran had, but for longevity, dominance and sheer skill, there are very few who i think can beat floyd.

Pacquiao on the other hand, also has his place in history cemented, but a lot of it is smoke and mirrors. He has a great story of coming from poverty and making it to the top Ala Duran, but his catchweight fights against opponents carefully chosen, his alphabet titles, drug use suspicions etc, they all count against him in my book. He has the popularity to rival anyone, but his skills and opponents he has faced are not comparable to mayweathers.

Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao contract still not signed

Eleven days before the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, an actual contract for the bout to take place at the MGM Grand still has not been signed.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com on Tuesday that he wasn't signing the contract that he received a draft of on April 15 because it wasn't what he agreed to when the MGM, Mayweather Promotions and he signed the term sheet a couple months ago.

"We agreed that we would all be signatories on the final contract and then they sent us a draft of the agreement and it excluded us," said Arum, who promotes Pacquiao.

Not being a signatory to the contract means that Top Rank wouldn't have control of decisions during the fight, including in-arena production, video content and music.

"They don't want us to have any say," Arum said. "So whether they came up with the deal between Mayweather and MGM before or after our agreement, they've committed fraud either way. That's what we're enmeshed in."

Arum said later Tuesday night that, after asking for three weeks, he finally received the manifest, which carves out who gets seats where.

"It's one of the things I was most concerned about," said Arum, adding that he thinks it's possible the contract gets signed Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

The Marquez factor doesn't figure in to the outcome of this fight.  Number 1, Manny is much faster and dynamic the Marquez.  He will be able to punch Mayweather in the face.  This is a real fight. 
The biggest mistake people make is thinking that Marquez and Floyd are counter punchers, therefore Floyd will beat Manny because he's a better counter puncher than Marquez.  Yes, he is better, but
a different type of counter puncher. 

Marquez is willing to stand in the pocket and punch with Manny or anyone else he fights.  Floyd lets you shoot your wad and then returns fire.  If you let Manny shoot his wad, your going to take some leather.

into survival mode.  See his fights with Floyd and Manny.  Manny is a true competitor in every sense of the word and will not get discouraged to the point where he ever quits trying to find a way to win.
See his first fight with Erik Morales.  He was down 7-3 and finally figured Morales out in the 11th and won the last two rounds big.  It carried over to their rematch and he blew him out.
