Having never a though that I was in the wrong body, I have trouble wrapping my head around this issue. I suspect some people become obsessed with wanting to have the body of their opposite sex.

I have a live and let live kind of attitude. Obsessive behavior is and mental health issue that can be treated with drugs and therapy.

A very interesting book is Middlesex. The main character is a hermaphrodite. His/her parents and doctor want him/her to have a operation to become one sex. After some thought he/she decides to remain as born and leaves home. The character goes on to lead a very successful life.
