"....there’s the fact that it just happened to be a pregnant woman’s car that Jones (allegedly) hit. And the collision just happened to leave her with a broken arm. Not only did Jones (again, allegedly) take off instead of checking on the person he hurt, he did so on foot, which is not a great look for a guy so recently shown running through city streets in a Reebok ad.

But then, according to the police report, Jones returned to the scene. To check on the victim, perhaps? To wait for police and paramedics? No, it was just to grab a handful of cash. Then he ran off again, leaving behind an injured pregnant woman, a wrecked rental car filled with documents linking him to the crime, plus a pipe and some marijuana, just in case you didn’t already think his behavior seemed like that of a man who was maybe not completely sober behind the wheel.

After that, he goes incommunicado for the next day or so before finally turning himself into police, and then posting bail. Just to put a cherry on top at the end of a long, awful day, Jones’ lawyer, Vincent Ward, then appears before local news cameras to drop a gem of empathy and understanding.

“(Jones) wants to get down to training for this fight he has,” he said. “He wouldn’t want to be dealing with this right now, but he’s a great guy. He’s taking all this seriously.”

Good work, lawyer. Way to make your client seem like he’s more annoyed with the consequences of his actions than concerned for the pregnant woman he’s accused of injuring. Way to make it seem like you think he deserves credit just for not treating it all as one big joke...."

Once a piece of shit always a piece of shit.

He's not going to steer clear of lasting damage for this one.

Im torn between hoping the woman will be fine and between her being permanently fucked up and able to claim Jones for every cent he aint worth.

Wow, the UFC stripped him of the LHW title. Daniel Cormier steps in for Jones in the fight against Rumble for vacant title.

Wow!!!!

I thought that it was going to be a long time before Cormier worked his way back into a shot for the belt.

Amazing turn of events.

Wow.....

This is an incredible turn of events. I did not think Dana would actually pull his biggest money draw from the card, strip him of his title and suspend him.

That's a strong statement and will hopefully deter other fighters from following suit.

Thinking a little off-kilter here, I wonder if Jones will feel jaded after he resolves his legal matters and considers something drastic like a move to Bellator. I don't know how many fights he has left on his contract, but imagine how much more Bellator would drop on Jones if he were to make that move. They would probably double what he makes from the UFC and pay for any legal fees to dispute his contractual obligations. Imagine the possibilities if the UFC's best fighter (undefeated and with a record of slaughtering the top fighters/legends in all of Pro MMA) decides to leave the UFC and make Bellator his home. I could see many UFC fighters following him if he does.

You really expect the UFC and the MMA-world in general accepting a criminal as their champion?

Not one did he get into trouble (a la Rampage), but twice!

Impossible to spin this in a positive way.

he's not the best mma fighter in the world and he looks beatable.

Not necessary, he continues to beat himself. Just KO'd his career. Hope all his sponsors get rid of him, this guy is bad publicity on legs
