Look, point I'm trying to make is that, if acting civilized and the advancement of humanity is your only goal, amassing a huge arsenal of weaponry is a contradiction to that principle. If the goal is advancement of the species, then it would make sense to spend the money researching that which kills us (disease, hunger, natural disasters, et cetera).

In any case, there is a huge difference between civilization and acting civilized. I, however, love it when white folks take out the "civilized" card when they know full well they have not added anything of value to the cause. The fact of the matter is that the great advancements are usually carried out by a minuscule minority of people who devote their lives to the betterment of humanity. The rest of us, be it black looters in Baltimore or the white juice head from Canarsie are in for the ride.
