Wow up to 300 units a day; a type 2 diabetic usually needs only around 1 unit per KG daily. Although I agree with one of the OP's that insulin is very anabolic it also causes hypoglycemia, atherosclerosis, weight gain (not the good kind), and worsens hypertension. For a person who is not technically a diabetic to utilize insulin is insane. I know a few pro level BB's who utilize GH, which is antagonistic to insulin in that it raises blood sugar (along with cortisol and epinephrine...they are counter-regulatory hormones). Apparently, this combination packs on muscle but at what cost. As you can see, since the 1990's when GH and insulin use really took off we went away from the Lee Haney / Lee Labrada physiques and morphed to Dorian and Ronnie. I don't think looking at the condition of DY and RC in their later years that it was necessarily a wise decision. Did they become ginormous...of course. However, their guts and internal organs grew also; can anyone with a straight face really want to looke like DY or RC circa 1996/1997 or 2004/2005, respectively. If you do more power to you and I got a bridge I want to sell you. For the realists, this degree of drug use is bringing the sport down, and it won't stop until the judges stop catering to the mass at all costs dictum.
