FMW is similar to GSP (Georges St. Pierre). Both are intelligent fighters and understand that a perfect record (at least in Mayweather's case) is what will be remembered throughout times to come. That and the sheer reputation of being undefeated is what will get you bargaining power.

Mayweather is an incredible draw, because everyone wants to see him fight. His fans will pay to keep the nut-hugging train going. His detractors will pay in the hopes of seeing him finally get knocked out. It's a win-win for all sides involved, especially Mayweather.

Mayweather can be a disrespectful piece of shit outside of the ring, no doubt about it. On the other hand, what I will say is that the man is an incredibly "SMART" fighter. When he said he was better than Ali, I could see where that argument could be made from different viewpoints.

Mayweather is not in the business of getting hit in the face, he is in it to win, plain and simple. Ali was great with his mouth as a self-promoting draw, but Mayweather does the same and manages to walk out of the ring looking as if he just woke up. Ali walks around with severe Parkinson's, whereby Mayweather will retire with probably 50x Ali's worth and with his faculties intact. Yeah, I'd say he is a better fighter in that respect.

Mayweather will never have to worry about becoming one of those former boxers that now resorts to eating his food through a straw, while foaming at the mouth in between words.

If Floyd is such a great boxer then why doesn't he box his way out of situations instead of instantly hugging when someone gets in close or running away when someone else is trying to engage and partake in an actual boxing match?

Nobody is claiming he doesn't win fights or trying to tell him how to box but merely pointing out his boring cowardice style in the ring

Stop. No one is beating Mayweather.
LOL Mayweather would get his shit pushed in....

GGG too strong, cuts the ring off brilliantly, and hits hard.

Floyd would never fight him though...

I've heard this already with most of his other opponents.  ::)
Once again, Floyd is brilliant BOXER. You can't hit what you can't catch. This would be no different.

this is pretty much my take

Quote
I think losing 2-3 points for clinching and running would have been appropriate. I still would have had to score the fight with Floyd up one point.

Nobody hates Mayweather more than I do. He won the fight. He didn't do any damage and Pacman did land the power shots, had all the real flurries, had his opponent on the ropes several times throwing 5-10 punch combinations... And Floyd still won the fight.

This isn't Pride. It's boxing. What Floyd did last night was nothing short of amazing. He made Manny look like a prospect and not one of the all time greats that he is.

I will say that the Sky Sports broadcasters and perhaps the US broadcasters didn't call the fight without Floyd's nuts in their mouth. They didn't note a single punch Man y landed, including some very hard counter shots. Like I said, I had it 116-112. Even with 3 deductions, Floyd still wins.

Give the man his proper respects. You won't see another guy like him in your lifetime.

the cut would be too much for GGG, another victory via decision

Agreed, Golovkin is a beast. I would love to see him and Mayweather at a catch weight. Pac man was just too old and slow to handle Mayweather. Golvovkin may be the man to dethron Mayweather. However, I agree that Floyd will duck this fight at all costs.

GGG too big, no biggie if he didn't fight him.

Silver medalist Olympian, he has boxing pedigree. GGG would apply intelligent pressure and break Mayweather down. Mayweather wouldn't be able to pot shot and win like he usually does. That shotgun jab of GGG would rock him just alone.

I never pick against Mayweather but this fight I would.

But it would never happen...

He weighs in at 158 sometimes, another 4 pounds to shed wouldn't hurt. He would outweigh Mayweather by like 15-20 pounds come fight night....

+ Not having a plan b or c. Manny fucked up terribly in this fight.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are setting us up for a second fight though.
