i'd bet thurman or lara but he's getting rid of the belts for a reason. with the belts, the pressure to fight a young black champion and the shit festival of a fight with manny, real boxing fans will call for a lineal unification with brook at least or give thurman 147 or lara 154 his mandatory like ortiz and guerrero got. without the belts, he'll post another khan/maidana twitter type contest and let the causal pick, which i believe the organizations with haymon will rig a 160 fight with cotto at a catch weight for 50-0 if it isn't khan job . then, comeback in may 2016 for 51-0 vs a fading undefeated danny garcia type with a good fan base for ppv .

watch lara vs trout and paul williams. fmw isn't a pressure fighter. there's very little reason for lara to peddle and reset vs fmw like he had to do against angulo and molina. styles make fights. we won't see it anyway. fmw eliminates anyone of note monday morning but he could do that via social media as usual and the casual would eat it up again.

I've seen Lara fight many times

All I said was Floyd would come forward more because Lara is too long and rangy and fights off his back foot. Neither fighter would land anything significant and the fight would be boring as fuck.

Draw with many hard close rounds to score.

Demetrius Andrade is another good fighter similar to Lara that could cause problems for Floyd too.

Anyways, I think Floyd is fighting China chin Khan or Cotto rematch for the Middleweight title.

I just wanted to add FMW defended the WBA 154 belt against Maidana 2 and eliminated a Lara's #1 world/silver mandatory for one year. Leonard Ellerby his fat troll ran around acting like it was a travesty the WBA did that, put up both the WBA belts. They definitely know how to work the casuals for a dollar.

listen closely to what andrade says about fighting on another promoter's or A-side's card. it definitely wasn't a 7-5 fight for sure. it's beyond ridiculous that anyone would contend fmw didn't win the fight.

mayweather won easily, I hate the guy but I don't let it blind me, but Manny is also shot, 5 years ago, it would have been a lot closer, in saying that I believe manny was injured he just never threw the right hook, when Floyd came off the ropes, he always went right and upright with the shoulder roll, but not once could Manny get in position and attempt a hook, he reminded me of Kostya Tzsyu in his last fight against hatton, there were a few opportunities that at his peak he could have capitalised on, but the older version of him just can't get in position and when he does he hesitates, similar to De La Hoya when he fought him, just followed him around hesitated and got punched in the face for it. shame didn't happen 5 years ago, but FMW would have still won, look for manny to fight Maidana next, FMW will fight Khan, makes sense money wise, biggest fight outside of this one with all the lager loving brits using him as an excuse for a vegas trip.

paulie thinks he'll go for a danny garcia but i agree w/you khan is a soft touch at 147 and fmw will grab that fight. UK fans will buy it, and khan has nicely avoided brook and thurman and fmw tosses the belts today, so no one can say unification or mandatory to him. look for a new khan twitter contest this week. i still see danny as 51 if they keep him undefeated til may 2016 even though herrera and peterson have already exposed him.

I scored it 6-6 but will admit that I probably gave Manny the benefit of the doubt at least twice. I have no problem with Floyd winning 8-4. The fight sucked. Manny sucked, and Floyd didn't set the world on fire either. If I were judging and allowed to score even rounds, I'd probably have scored several rounds even. My real card probably would have looked like 5-3 for Floyd with 4 rounds even. At the time, I had thoughts that something was wrong with Manny. Either he was shot? Overtrained? Or his legs are gone? Then he claimed a shoulder injury? Hate to make excuses, but that could make sense. Don't want to watch them fight again, unless it's in Macau and on regular or premium television.

As for Floyd's next opponent? Don't think he'll fight Khan. Khan might be chinny, but he has a shitload of tools and has looked Wlad Klitchko-esque since hooking up with Virgil Hunter. He is tall, rangy, hands and feet are fast as fuck and supremely conditioned. I say Floyd and Manny both duck him.

My biggest fear is that he'll fight Cotto again if Cotto wins his fight in June. He carried Cotto the 1st time and will handle him 10X easier in the rematch. This would give Floyd the Undisputed Middleweight Championship of the world without having fought the best middleweight.

Floyd has made a habit of not fighting the best guys in his weight class.

At 130, he missed Casamayor and Freitas

At 135, he did fight Castillo, but probably lost the 1st fight. Credit for the rematch victory though.

At 140, he missed Tszyu and Hatton. Yes, he fought Hatton at 147, but Hatton was a far different animal at 140.

At 147, he retired when Margarito, Cotto and Mosley were the top 3. He fought a shell of Cotto at 154 and less a shell of Mosley at 147. Margarito was a flat out DUCK job.

At 147, he gets credit for fighting and beating Manny, who going in was the 2nd best welter and possibly #2 P4P.

At 154, he did beat Canelo who was the top dog there.

At 160, if he fights Cotto, he again avoids the top dog in GGG.

So that would be 7 weight classes with victories against only the best guy in the division 3 times.

exactly. even a lighter GGG at light-middle is a powerhouse. people forget he's one of the smaller middleweights and never goes above 167 between fights and comes in at 158 for most fights. making weight for him wouldn't be a problem - only problem is Floyd would laugh the offer out the building!
tbf to him though, Cotto's a former celebrated welterweight and GGG has never been below middle so he could argue that the natural size difference is too much with GGG but not Cotto.

its a shame because GGG imo comes closer than anyone - including Andrade and Brook. GGG's timing is a big strength of his and while Manny chased Floyd, GGG would cut him off. punch power doesn't even need to be mentioned!

thats a pipe dream though, realisitically it would have been great to see Brook given the chance for a unification.

I predicted the way this fight would go right on this board. Mayweather would try to win on points and never really engage him in a fight. Neither fighter got hit. Boxing took a big setback with this sham. If one fighter just wants to run around the ring and throw a couple of punches the other fighter can't do anything about it. To those calling Mayweather a brilliant fighter he fights like a coward trying to out point his opponents. Casual fight fans will never be duped again to fork over that amount of money for a pay per view boxing match.

Pac is having shoulder surgery - was injured.. No way to know how it might have changed things for him to have been healthy. The only chance he had to beat Mayweather was to attack and maybe he couldn't.. But Mayweather is just the greatest defensive fighter - so maybe it would have changed nothing...
Those that are pissed at PAC - need to ask themselves what they would have done in his place... Fight has been in the works over half a decade - its an $80,000,000 paycheck for you and your team (who depend on you) - AND if you postpone there is a huge chance you never get another shot
