The news article suggests that he was given greater punishment because of his past record and the fact that he was on probation. Probation is like being in prison only without the bars. Scratch your nose the wrong way and back you go. It makes no difference that this offense in completely unrelated to his past ones. The woman has no record, thus she got a lighter sentence, despite them being equally responsible for their actions on that beach, that day.

This is just another example of how life isn't fair or just.

I'm torn on this. On one hand I want them to be fined and maybe do community service. On the other hand they knowingly did this in front of children in public.  If someone shakes their cock in front of school kids they deserve everything they got coming. Why is this any different? Like someone said before jails in most states are run by the counties and are used for one year and under bids.  Prison run by the state are all the way up to life. Some jails though because of over crowding in the prison do have people incarcerated for over their designed limit.
