Here you go again.  Find the quote where either of us said either of these things.

This is just another version of the "every team does it" defense, or that guy in the NBA thread who makes up fantasy scenarios he thinks LeBron would win at in order to prove he's better than Jordan.

If you agree with what we're saying then stop getting your panties in a bunch about it.

It is nice that you withdrew your incorrect contention that I don't know what "Straw Man" means though.

Well, if you aren't contending that there are more and/or dumber homers in the Boston sports team's universe then what, exactly, are your bitching about?

I will get back to the straw man later.

Damn:

Quote
You should read the story immediately, but the thrust is this—citing interviews with 90 sources in and around football as well as primary documents, ESPN reports that Bill Belichick and the Patriots videotaped opposing teams’ signals from 40 different games from 2000 through 2007. And when the scandal broke, Goodell did everything in his power to protect Robert Kraft, who was one of his strongest supporters and without whom he would not have been named commissioner. The thesis statement in this story is that the cover-up—and if this report is accurate, the league’s actions can’t be called anything else but a cover-up—so rankled other owners that Goodell came down extra-hard on New England and Tom Brady for Ballghazi as “a makeup call.”

I don't see any asterisks in any official record books regarding NE's Super Bowl wins and losses.

A real man takes care of his family so that his wife doesn't have a two-hour commute to work...then and only then will he waste time on a "bodybuilding" website.

I will get back to the straw man later.

I'm contending that Boston fans are a special breed of insufferable homer.

Each of my posts has said this almost word for word, not sure how it is unclear to you.

Bellicheck was also on a short leash.  After the tapping scandal he would be banned as a coach if he violated anything else so instead of accusing him as the cheater they went after Brady.  Goodell didn't want to fuck over the Patriots by dragging Bellicheck into the mess.

Plenty of debate... "Anonymous sources", we just saw how that failed (ESPN and NFL) with apologies from Peter King, ESPN, etc for false info.

And it just comes out now? (These anonymous sources) ??

Perfect example of the problem so many have with Boston and the Cheatriots.
Can you imagine any other team using a picture like that? Stay classy and obnoxious as ever Boston. We're all so impressed.

that's why he instantly said "Ask Brady..." when reporters wanted to know about deflated balls.

Brady is a bad mood, turned ankle, or just 2 years of age away from being out of football and onto politics.

Belicheat still wants to keep this awesome job with jimmy garrapaolosdopolis.

I love the Patriots justification. "Well everybody else was cheating" .  They are convincing themselves that their superbowls are legit because everyone's a cheater.  lol.  That is a good story on ESPN.  Shows you how complicit the NFL was in allowing the Patriots to cheat.

Bellichick knew the NFL was too damn lazy to figure it out until they won a few superbowls.  I would only assume Coughlin knew about this and figured out how to fool the patriots.

I live in New England and I have been a NE sports fan my whole life and I too find most NE fans insufferable.  Most act like the Patriots winning or losing is life or death when in reality neither scenario will alter their life one bit.  They all dress up in the favorite jerseys and act like they are going out on to the field to play.  I for one can't wait until the Patriots are a middle of the pack team again just so the bandwagon fans will go away.  Bandwagon fans are insufferable

very petty of the NFL to release this right before the thursday game...

BUT

you know they wanted THIS to be the #1 story/cloud over the game, and not a bunch of smug Pats fans gloating about how their boy Brady never cheated, with all sorts of bullshit hashtags like #vindicated

Pats are biggest cheats in NFL history, their legacy forever asterisked.  Their homer fans will deny it with "everybody cheats", but the grownups know.

I wonder if one day all of the Patriots Superbowl wins will vanish like Armstrong's Tour de France wins did.

I'm not a fan of Boston sports but I will say it's a great sports city.

Every fan base has its share of d-bags, I don't think they have any more per capita. They've been on an unbelievable run since 2001 so they are targeted.

This is incorrect, and exactly how they answer criticism.

Each of my posts has said this almost word for word, not sure how it is unclear to you.

So you contend that Boston sports fans are the most insufferable, yet your facts to support such claims are a trifecta of anecdotes from sports radio listeners? Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and I won't even try to sway yours, as it's clearly fueled by blind fury at Boston for some reason, but I can easily offer competing anecdotes from other pro-sports media-markets that would rival or surpass the "homer-ness" of the examples that you seem to be weighing so heavily. Will I then claim that "proves" that my opinion about the New Orleans Saints is correct? No, I wouldn't care to make that blithe, facile assertion based on the obvious dearth of facts.

But go right ahead.

I have no issue with Boston fans... Such as fans who are from the area and love their team.

What I have noticed is that there is an influx of Boston fans who live nowhere near the area and for some reason don't know anything about Boston other than Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck.

Fans of the Patriots and Red Sox who have never even BEEN to Boston.

How does that happen?

Boston has a good amount of dipshits for sure, Micks that woke up as babies in the hospital knowing a few things:

- They wuz Irish
- They wuz Democrat
- They wuz Catholics
- The like the Pats/Sawks/Bruins/Celts

I think it's the inbred Southie accent that pisses off folks so much, maybe.

Masterful rebuttal...

I've set numerous examples, live up here right near the Stadium, have lived in other states as well, and wrote for a baseball blog that got pretty well known and followed this stuff.

Not rehashing it again.

lol at arguing sports, which has absolutely no affect on your life. Whether your team win or loses, it has no impact on you, besides some distressing feelings if your team loses. Ive never understood fans who cry and get really upset when their team loses. Talk about not being able to get a grip.  :D :D

I don't know who is nuttier, religious people, sport fans, or gun people.  :D :D

This is not 100% true as my wife will only make her unbelievable potato skins for Patriots' playoff games. Pats winning is a dietary imperative for me.

So, she doesn't make potato skins during the regular season?

Bummer.

I don't know about Schizzo personally, but the band wagon riders... yes, they drive me insane.

I have a lot of fondness for the Bruins. When Adam Oates left St. Louis and ended up in Boston with Cam Neely and Ray Bourque, I really enjoyed watching them play.

I can remember sitting in the stands, freezing my balls off, watching fucking Grogan take snaps. Those were some barren years.
