Very off topic but I haven't seen you posting for a while and wanted to ask you something about bread now that I've run into you.

I don't eat a lot of bread but like to have it on hand. It probably takes me a good two months to go through a loaf of bread. I like that Orowheat double fiber bread. I figure if I'm going to eat bread might as well get as much fiber as I can.

Anyway, is it better to keep it in the fridge or the freezer if you're not going to use it right away?

Also, say you defrost chicken and cook it, is it OK to then refreeze it? I've heard that you're not suppose to refreeze  meat but I wonder if it's the same after you cook it.

Freeze your bread immediately.  Buy and then freeze and pull out what you need as you need it.  It will keep nearly exactly as fresh as it first was.  The quickest way to stale bread is by putting it in the fridge.  NEVER do so unless you need stale bread for a reason or a recipe.

I have so many things going on right now that I have had to put Getbig on the backburner.  So many projects and things.  Still training hard and in single digit fat.

You can with the chicken, but it will taste like and have the texture of rubber if it is alone.  If it is in a braise, sauce when frozen it will be fine though.  Alone it will be shit.

Holy shit! I've had my bread in the fridge for two days now. I was going to stop by Foodland on my way home today  but I'm heading straight home. I'm not sure how much time, if any, I have left for that bread

Thanks for the heads up.

You were very specific about chicken. This seems to imply it's no good for fish or beef. I bought a pound of cod and cooked the whole thing but put half in the freezer.

Please advise.

So no good? I usually buy those one's that are individually wrapped and frozen. This was bought fresh and on sale. It had to be sold that day.

Hate to see good Cod go to waste.

Bread lasts longer if you keep it in the fridge. Eventually though it will grow mold.

Since it is not uncommon to freeze casseroles which contain meat which could have been frozen before you put it in the casserole, I suspect it is okay to refreeze meat after it is cooked. It will probably loose some flavor though. Most foods in the freezer should be used within 6 months.

You must be cooking for one or two. I have the same problem trying to prepare just enough for a meal so that there are no leftovers. It's a good idea to date anything you freeze and to date leftovers you put in the fridge. Most people have a habit of forgetting how long something has been in the refrigerator or freezer. My rule of thumb is to throw out anything which I can't remember when it went into the refrigerator.

Like Adonis said. Bread in the fridge is a no no...Always freeze bread if you want it to keep and pull out what you need as you go...

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

Your post doesn't say enough.

If you purchase previously frozen meat, poultry or fish at a retail store, you can refreeze if it has been handled properly. Raw or cooked meat, poultry or casseroles can be cooked or reheated from the frozen state. However, it will take approximately one and a half times as long to cook. Jun 15, 2013

Bread goes stale about 6 times faster when kept in the refrigerator, however it does not grow mold as quickly. Some folks recommend freezing bread instead of refrigerating it. The disadvantage in doing this is having to warm the bread before you eat it.

The last paragraph is my opinion. If you have a different opinion, that's fine. Opinions cannot be wrong - advice can be wrong.

Warming the bread before you eat it is a great thing to do as starch retrogradation can be temporarily reversed by the reheating process thus causing bread to unstale.  Its Science Primemuscle, your "opinion", therefore, is meaningless.

Also, bread can easily not mold out of the fridge.  You can do this with any bread.  Just set it high enough, like on top of a cabinet, and you will eventually have croutons that will stay good indefinitely.  Its the same process of food dehydration.  Bread does not mold in the fridge as fast simply because humidity and excess moisture is kept at bay, the same thing one can achieve outside the fridge.  Hell, you could put a piece of bread outside in low humidity and it won`t ever mold once the moisture is drawn out.

Anyways, like always, I hope this helps.

I've always just boiled them for ages. What have I been doing wrong?

Put uncooked eggs in cold water, bring it to a boil, take them off the burner and run cold water in the pan to stop the cooking process.

Best way is to actually steam them.

As always, hope this helps.
