For some reason, Rasmussen thought it worthwhile to poll Americans on whether or not Michelle Obama should challenge Hillary for the Democratic nomination.

The results don’t look good for the current First Lady.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 14% of likely U.S. Voters think the first lady should run for president. Seventy-one percent (71%) disagree, but another 15% are not sure.

She didn’t even manage to win over minority voters when it came to a White House bid of her own.

Among black voters, however, 40% think Obama should run, and only 41% disagree.

Obama will be 5-10 points higher after leaving office (just like Bush, obama, bush1 before him) and will escort her into office just like Bilary did.

hilary was a lawyer with no experience outside of being first lady.  A few years later, she stacked up her Senate run and got experience that way.

I dislike obama, but I see her doing the exact same thing, if she wants.  Princeton + harvard law grad.   She's worked as lawyer + University of Chicago Medical Center.  She won't need that much more.  There are some current senators with resumes thinner than that.  Obama's wasnt that much better.

I could seriously see highly liberal Sen. Obama becoming the VP or even the candidate in 8 or 12 years.  By then, obama's ratings will be higher (they're not terrible now as they should be)

LOL She's perhaps the most polarizing person in the history of american politics.  People HATE her. 

Well, they did... then they just got used to her.

And, to further make my point - MOBama is MORE popular than Hilary was as First Lady:

So as shitty as they both are, her 'starting point' is ten points higher than Hilary.  And Hilary (with the same experience) has become senator, sec of state, and now pretty close to being the dem candidate).

So yes, I get it - people don't like her - but they liked hilary LESS as FLOTUS, and she overcame it.

Poll: Michelle Obama would be Hillary’s strongest Dem rival in 2016



If Michelle Obama decided to run for president in 2016, she would pose the most significant threat, among likely contenders, to Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the Democratic nomination, according to a new Rasmussen poll.

A telephone survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted by the polling company found that in a hypothetical match-up between the current first lady and the former secretary of State, Clinton would best Obama 56 percent to 22 percent.

That may seem like a significant margin, but according to the most recent RealClearPolitics polling average, Elizabeth Warren, a popular hypothetical challenger to Clinton, receives only 12.5 percent to Clinton's 64 percent.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the only other major Democratic candidate in the race for president, is even further behind, with 7.4 percent. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who is expected to announce his bid on May 30, fares the worst against Clinton, with 1.2 percent of support from likely voters.

The first lady is highly unlikely to mount a presidential campaign, however. In fact, of the people surveyed by Rasmussen, just 14 percent thought she should run.

Still, 40 percent of black voters welcomed the idea of her running, and she bests Clinton among those voters, with 44 percent support among African-Americans compared with 36 percent for Clinton.

Obama herself recently joked about a possible October surprise, hinting to "Late Show" host David Letterman that the thought had crossed her mind.

this is absolutely mind-boggling.

her resume?  worked as a lawyer, worked for a hospital and a law firm.   that's it.   and spent 8 years hanging out in the white house.

however, it was the only resume that Hilary had, and she won senator of NY, one of the biggest jobs in government. 


I think HH6 is correct that people "on the right" can't stand michelle obama.  But from this poll you posted, it appears moderates and particularly liberals, love her.   #2 against hilary, that is mindboggling.  unbelievable.
