Still too big/heavy.  Interior probably blows chunks too (as does the Mustang).

Love American cubic inch power but Camaro needs to go on diet, upscale the interior and ditch the Transformers era look.  Car is long in the tooth even though its V8 power train is impressive.

Americans CAN build great cars.....see C7, uprated Z06, CTS-V.

Camaro needs more drastic change than this.  Turbo 4s are just gay in Mustang/Camaro.  They can be great in appropriate platforms....Mustang/Camaro are not best platform for turbo 4 IMO.

Ive had a Honda for years, and never no problems. Maybe its gone down hill recently, but my car is just fine.
All cars will be fine if you drive them normal and keep up maintenance.

Turbo 4 in Camaro is base engine. In Mustang it's the mid level engine. They have to do turbo's (4s and 6s) for "economy" requirements that in real life the turbo engines don't really meet.
The people who pick the base engines (V6 in Mustang) don't really care about performance, but more so to looks. Also, the base cars go into fleets.

That Ford Ecoboost 4 is a beast. And the BMW M2 was going to get a turbo 4 at one time.

I get it. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

Turbo 4's are perfectly fine in a Mustang or Camaro.  Motortrend got a 0 to 60 time of 5.6 seconds on the turbo Mustang.  This car lost 200 pounds over the previous model.

Why would anyone buy an American car these days?  :-\ :-\

American trucks are still Detroit iron.  The cars aren't as reliable as Japanese cars, but the parts are cheap, available, and any mechanic can fix them.  Anything with a small block chevy engine is great because the rebuilt engines can be bought for less than 2K and you can get 300k miles out of them.  That's the secret to why there are so many old pickups still driving on the road.

I like turbo 4 in WRX and like minded vehicles.

A V8 is just part of the experience with Mustang/Camaro.  Heritage blah blah.....it actually does matter with these two models.

The first four cylinder Mustang was offered back in 1973 and the first turbo four in 1984, so this is nothing new.  I agree I would rather have the V8 and so would 52 percent of Mustang buyers.  However, one out of four buyers choose the four cylinder engine and the Camaro will probably have a similar take rate.

I saw a white/tan z06 last week.   It really does stand out over standard z51.  Lots of car for the money.

Also saw new AMG GT-S few days ago.....bang a u turn just to see what the hell it was (spotted in parking lot out of corner of my eye).  The AMG looks pretty awesome IRL, especially from behind.

I'm surprised the AMG GT is only in the 130k range......they said it's only getting better.....have not seen one in the street yet, only in a show room. the specs are impressive too....a little heavy, but that will do

MSRP: From $129,900
Horsepower: 503 HP
Engine: 4.0L V8
Fuel tank capacity: 17 gal
Curb weight: 3,627 lbs

looks a lot like a Mustang. But the Chevy logo cheapens the car. Would never buy a chevy because of it. I'm not a car guy at all, but fuck me it's a "walmart" type logo.

i agree completely

Change is the story under the hood, however. A 2.0-liter turbo four from the ATS and CTS is the base engine now, producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. GM says it's capable of 30 MPG on the highway

they have a race car version coming out. And so does BMW with their M6.

Apparently AMG is using the old engine, not the twin turbo 4.0 V8.
