First piece of exercise equipment I owned, my dad gave me them, they were old and occasionally a spring would snap at the end and the sharp bit scraped your chest.

Spring Chest Expanders or Spring Expanders, or now Cable Expanders. Most of the high strength new ones use surgical tubing, so it's easier to adjust or add on too, and less dangerous if a strand breaks.

When I was a kid (I know wise asses),I had a rubber chest expander...........quite a bit of tension on it.

Anyway,I was lying far back on my bed with one handle under my foot which I couldn`t see from this position, and doing one armed curls............with every curl I did, unbeknownst to me,the handle would slip a bit farther off my foot,on the last excrutiating hard straining rep that motherf ucker came off and hit me in my eye full force..........I saw white writhed around my bedroom floor for 3-4 minutes until I made sure I still had two eyes intact.  ;D

On another occasion as a kid,I had a Joe Weider Power Twister..............the big bendable spring thingy..............anyw ay I had this on my outside wall of a huge walk-in closet and it was so cold outside and on the wall of that closet, that when I broke that bad boy out to do a few reps on the third one it broke right in half just missing my jaw at full tension...........thanks to my cat like agility and super-hero honed reflexes,I avoided getting a broken jaw.

THANKS JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ;D

Because old people have money and power. So shut up and listen... You may learn something and finally have some success in life.

I met a one eyed painter who lost the other one to a bungee strap.  There was a roof rack incident.  So don't use those!

Springs do fine in sub-zero temperatures all the time.  I humbly suggest that 'ol Joe used poor quality steel in his springs because it saved him $0.05 per unit and that thing would have failed in a Miami heatwave.  Greedy fucker should have been thrown in jail for putting shit like that in kid's hands.  There are lots of crappy products out there but it takes a special kind of cunt to profit from a product that's going to break under tension and fly apart like a fragmentation grenade.

Then the world is a better place without him in it.  May he rot in peace and be remembered as a lying asshole too weak to make his living honestly.

Those who knowingly sell under-engineered products that are going to injure people send me wild.  Not sure if it's coming across but I kinda fucking hate that shit....
