Yup... bodybuilding is dead.
My friend attended a recent "bodybuilding" show in San Diego. He said there were only a handful of bodybuilders and about 50-60 of these legless wonders competing in the mens physique contest. With all the physique, bathing suit and figure BS, these "shows" are now about 4 hours long. Who the fuck wants to sit through all that?
Bodybuilding did it to itself. They have no one to blame but themselves.
Besides the Mr. O and Arnold, most bodybuilding shows pay like 10-15K for first place lol. What a joke. Plus, youre expected to get bigger and bigger, which means sticking more drugs into your body day-in and day-out, with little playback, besides a shitty trophy. Its hard to hold down a full time job, especially if you plan on making bodybuilding a career. Therefore, you are screwing yourself in terms of a long-term career (unless youre top 6 in the Mr. O). Not to mention that most people look at bodybuilders and think they are freaks.
As opposed to the physique guys, who stick minimal drugs in their body, do photoshoots, get a lot of women with a body like that, and many of them probably have normal, full-time jobs.
After all that, the question is: Why would anyone want to be a professional bodybuilder?
