My girl did this a decade ago. Lent her car to her brother-in-law who needed to run to the store for baby formula. He went to a strip club. True story. We took keys and he had to walk 6 miles at 2 am to get home.

Sounds to me like a junkie that gave the car to another junkie to go get drugs, and then sold the car and took off. Or, something like that. Probably why the cops don't care.

x2. This becomes a big hassle, especially if it crossed state lines. What are the cops gonna do? Get 2 more detectives on the case, working in shifts, or what is probably a Honda civic in desperate need of repairs? She lent a car to someone, that's dumbass decision #1. We need more info to help.
