I know Vince. You know, sometimes I stare at my microwave and pretend it's a TV. After all, it's my machine and it does what I say it does.

lets hear about the supinator 2.0

This is a machine Arthur Jones inspired me to build. He alerted us to the fact that there was no biceps machine that allowed one to put resistance on both heads of the biceps at the same time. So I was pleased that I finally built this machine. It was first conceived in 1987 and patented in the early nineties in 5 countries. A waste of money for sure. I built it by myself in 2001 and it has had several upgrades since. All quality components throughout. It finally is user friendly and you use it like you would doing seated curls with dumbbells. You can generate absolutely brutal biceps workouts using it.

Basil man, you are weird tonight, but some funny stuff here nonetheless. Why don't you rent a booth at some bb'ing show and see if it attracts the right people?

Maybe some getbigers would meet up with ya! Imagine Goodrum showing up, that would be huge!

Can't compare to a barbell. But good on you Vince for inventing something.

Old beliefs never die which is a pity. There is no comparison with barbells. You would know this after just one set on my machine. At least with dumbbells one can do some supination by turning the handles as you curl them.

I don't get much out of DB curls because my boobs are in the way. I have full range of motion when I do barbell curls. I can curl all the way up. So your bicep machine would do back shit for me.

Of course that Funnel Web on the toilet seat has been Photoshopped to a gigantic size. Some spiders are large in Australia (up to three inches across!) and when you see them in your vehicle it can cause a severe reaction if driving!

Foreigners hear about all these deadly pests and think they are everywhere downunder. I haven't seen a shark at a beach yet, either. I keep looking for them, of course.

I haven't seen any snakes yet and I do a lot of bushwalking both here and in Southern Queensland.

It's a hunts man spider and I have had this size in my bedroom. Its not photoshopped. My brother had one on top of his car engine.

Okay, but according to the Australian Museum the largest have a leg span of 150 mm or 6 inches. That is one huge spider. They often pop up near windows or you find them on walls. I had one on my rear view mirror in my car and wouldn't get inside. Since then I shut my windows at night when I park anywhere.

I had one in the van.  That'll wake you up in the morn.

Watch it with the snakes on your bush walks, old feller.  Spring time especially.  Also, apparently, if you keep chooks since feed -->mice-->snakes.  I've always seen you as an urban chicken coop type, Vince.

Come on and give with The SuperinatorTM.  Is supination resistance independently variable or a function of curl resistance and velocity?  Is it constant through the ROM?  Have you made allowance for wrist curling?  What is your recommended rep range, set count, and rest period for users of the new machine?  If a neophyte sets resistance too high does the machine have the power to twist his forearm off from its elbow and then just keep going around and around, spraying horrified onlookers with blood and thumping the freshly torn limb against the floor or have you incorporated safety measures which allow trainees to smile wanly through their sets?

It doesn't look anything like other biceps machines. It has resistance in two degrees of freedom while other machines have it in only one degree. Therefore, the mechanical tension that can be put on both heads of the biceps muscle is increased and if an effective protocol is used the muscle will grow rapidly. It is daunting using it because of the increased intensity involved.

If multiple planes of movement are the premium feature, how can you dismiss a dumbbell which has an infinite number of planes? Wouldn't that make the DB vastly superior via your preferred metric?

what do you think of these false grip pull ups  _aj_ ? twisting looks like it will burn after a few reps. I know you like ring work.

I really like ring pull-ups for that reason. I usually do weighted neutral grip, close grip and ring pull-ups on back day.

You can't easily control or change the resistances when doing dumbbell curls. With the biceps-supinator you have two weight stacks. You sit in the machine and adjust the foot rest, seat, and backrest. Then you

grip the handles and turn them using the supination muscles. You can proceed to do curls without rotating the hands because that resistance is there and you have to contract the supination part of the

biceps to keep it from rotating back to the original position. You can also supinate on the upward curl and pronate when lowering the weight. You can do both arms together or individually.

When you finish a set of curls you can continue to do the supination movement until the muscle is exhausted.

The big weight stack has 20 pound plates while the smaller stack has 5.5 pound plates or 2.5 kg.

I used to be on the gymnastics team at university so was okay on the rings. Most bodybuilders are too heavy to use them like

in the video. If you want to use dumbbells with the supination effect then get some that you can load unevenly on each side.

Have the heavy side on the bottom when curling and try to fully supinate about when the dumbbells are parallel with the floor.

You can also use dumbbells with wide handles and grip them towards one side. Keep the longer side at the bottom when curling up

and voila, supination curls. Okay, but rather difficult to do properly. My machine takes all that fooling around out of the exercise

and you get a more direct supination and you feel it throughout the movement. Larry Scott did curls in a way that engaged the

supinators and built fabulous arms that way. He had his biceps insertion go almost to the forearms.
