You keep saying you have a THEORY, so present the your THEORY!!!

It's pathetic that you keep telling everyone you have a theory, but fail to: 1) present the theory and 2) provide evidence of theory.

That is pathetic.

Yeah, THEORY.

Yeah, Priest was especially ruthless. Keep in mind, though, Basile crashed his old man's funeral. Of course, he needed to be reminded - no one remembers 1952's Mr. Newfie without a little prodding.

Always gives me a giggle seeing Vince defend those two here. You know how fickle he is with allegiances; obviously wasn't paying attention to the other boards.

haha! Poor, Basile. I am starting to think that Basile is more delusional than Goodrum.  :-\ :-\

Yeah, THEORY.

Um, I know what the word theory means according to the scientific community. Usually when I write theory in regard to Basile, I put it in quotes. Trust me, I realize his "theory" is not an actual theory in the strict scientific sense (theory of gravity, theory of evolution, germ theory, etc.). I just use that word to keep it consistent. I guess I can replace theory with "shitty idea," "pathetic," "failure" when referring to Basile ideas.

Gotcha.

Well, OMR and I called Basile out on this, and he stated that he is using the word "theory" differently than the scientific community lol. When pressed, he never provided us his definition of the word "theory."  :D :D

As you are aware. You can't just use the term theory and not use it in the mathematical or scientific sense.

It's like calling a dog a cat and expecting everyone to just go along with it.

It's just not allowed.

and then he gets countered

here he goes on about the philosophy of science - its 10 years old and still the world is none the wiser

Vince has been touting this for years, can't back any of it up and believes the fact people want proof as being representative of a lack of intellectual rigour on their part- not on his.

he's a bad crank

This is most likely why Basile considers his idea a "theory." According to his definition, his idea probably constitutes a theory. Unfortunately, for Basile, the rest of the scientific world does not deem it a theory. Yet, again, Basile is laughed at.  :D

We should all just reinvent scientific terms to fit our agenda. Just think, everyone on getbig would win a nobel prize. Holy shit, can you imagine what this would mean for Johnny Falcon! Falcon would have at least 14 nobel prizes!!

haha, this guy owned him.

Well, guys, I don't think Vince is going to give us a summary of his ideas. I took his advice and searched through his previous threads on this forum, and found that about two years ago, mikeynov wrote:

"On the other hand, vince's position seems obscured by page-long posts and rambling on correlary subjects. it'd be really neat for vince to lay out a formulaic, neat, concise post detailing SPECIFICALLY what his DOMS theory entails, and, god forbid, an example routine to go with it? i would actually be quite interested in this... "

I also found that Vince thinks that we must always train so that our muscles are sore--his "DOMS" theory. What we now need to know in staightforward terms is how Vince thinks we should be training according to his DOMS theory.

Vince, I'm not trying to start a debate about training, or philosophy, nor am I preparing to convince you that HST is correct. I simply want a nuts & bolts description of your training approach.

Cheers.

And it goes way back to 2002

He has a DOMS theory for hypertrophy. He's stated that any routine that causes DOMS will lead to hypertrophy. He's said that the majority of trainees in the world are not getting bigger, and that's because they're not achieving DOMS. I never could glean a routine from his posts at the HST forum- partly because it was very tiring to read all his posts that cut down HST but never gave any evidence to support his rantings. He didn't seem willing/able to respond directly to the questions that readers had after reading his posts. Nobody ever could nail him down on anything.

I'd like to see "The DOMS Theory" written down somewhere. Even the article (at T-Mag?) that he wrote doesn't describe it. He spent several weeks ripping up HST on the forum, but I can't find his theory, or anything else concrete for that matter, from him.

If you read Vince's essays of verbal vomit, you will see that it is full of contradictions. He doesnt understand the basic concepts of physiology, even though he says he has a masters degree in it. The basic concept of muscle growth is that progressive overload is needed for the muscle to adapt by hypertrophying. He preaches some DOMS principle. DOMS is a inflammation, but he also says alot of bodybuilders grow without it. I think DOMS should be used as a guide, but not as a rule as Vince suggests.

my 'theory' with vince's 'theory' is that it only exists as a 'secret' in his own mind. the power of the theory is 'the secret' and thus can never be revealed or it will lose its power.

he was doing this shit in 2002- its 13 years on and nothing has changed.

more tellingly however is that his 'theory' has not advanced a single step in that time.

Kinda proves he's been quite the asshole for some time.

And I know that placing third in a nineteenth century Mr. North-Western Territory contest should carry with it a degree of physiology expertise, but DOMS are overrated.

vinces' life and theory is as follows

'I once interviewed arnold therefore I matter and must be valued and followed without question'

unfortunately only vince believes that

as for the bicepinator- if it worked in a provable manner vince would be worth tens of millions. he isn't. why?

three possible reasons

1- it doesn't stand up to scrutiny of any sort
2- it does but vince is too much of an ethical man to share it with the world
3- its abject nonsense
