HOT,HOT,HOT IN JERSEY,,,

Of course I left Jersey during a heat wave to vacation in South Carolina. It's warm here but no 90 degrees like Jersey. Damn I live by the beach too in Jersey. Anyway, enjoying my time here. Worked legs in the condo gym. Limited equipment.

Smith machine  squats 3 x 10
dumbbell lunges 3 x 8
Tried their machine leg press it had the strangest strength curve. Got easier as you pushed out. It should have been the other way around. Only did one set.
leg extensions 3 x12
standing leg curl 3 x10
single leg calf raise 3 x 10 (injured calf. These were tough)
seated calf 3 x 15

must have been the low carbs lol,,,15,000 with supplemental on the damage on it,,i really like the car if they totaled it ,I would have had to get another car,,i just put new tires this past wk ,car runs and drives like a clock...

Michelin Primacy MXV4 is what I put on my car the last time it needed tires. The car handles much better and these tires really quieted the road noise as compared to what I had before. The salesman at Les Schawb talked me into buying Toyo premium high performance tires several years back. They were noisy, they only lasted about 2 years and my car would drift like it was out of alignment if you took your hands off the wheel. With the Michelin tires I could go for miles with out steering on a straight road. I think Mercedes come factory equipped with Michelin Primacy tires.

bmw hold there value that's why u got 10k,,,maxima's are great cars I had 99 loved it,drove nissans till I could afford bmw ,I worked with 2 diff bmw stores combined 13yrs I know a lot about them, worked with Porsche as well,i'm with Volvo now.

I am very fond of the Volvo C30.

I picked out the color, metallic white, interior black on black leather with and automatic transmission. I am too lazy to shift.

The car might be a bit small, but that is exactly what I like about it. There is still plenty of room in the back for the pups and my wife's rollalator.

Trust me to pick a car that isn't in production any longer. I got to thinking that if the back seats didn't fold flat there probably isn't enough room for all the stuff I haul around in my wagon anyway.

My cold is raging on. No workout today. -Slept until noon.

I took my wife to the doctor today because her cold started first and since she has congestive heart failure and a tendency towards pneumonia, her getting a cold is more serious then it is with me. The doctor put her on an antibiotic for a bacterial infection in her lungs.

So far, I am keeping my cold under control. Tonight it is all in my head which for me is a good thing since I also have a tendency for colds to become bronchial pneumonia. As soon as my chest starts becoming congested I will be getting an antibiotic from the doctor too.

Besides the fact that getting a cold sucks and is interfering with my workouts. This week is probably one of the busiest weeks for me of the year. I had to cancel a meeting tonight. Thursday, Friday and Saturday I am expected to be at the annual OSEA conference. If I am not considerably better, I won't be attending for the first time in years.  I guess there is no good time to catch a cold, but this is probably one of the worst times for me.

I did not workout yesterday. It would have been an interesting workout if I had though. I was on one long sneezing attack. Finally, I just took my broken body to bed so I could sleep through this shit. This morning, I felt much better when I first got up and then the sneezing, coughing and runny nose kicked in. Still, I think I am marginally better then yesterday. I briefly imagined I could work legs today and then thought better of it.

Never-the-less, I just called and cancelled my hotel room reservations and sent an email out to my cohorts attending conference that I would not be there this year. Even if I started feeling markedly better tomorrow, I don't wish to make a couple of hundred people sick with my germs.

On the car front. I took my car in for some work yesterday. I thought it might need a new fuel filter as it was running kind of rough. As it turned out, another coil had gone bad and it was misfiring. This happened last year too. It is a fairly expensive fix. I went ahead and had the mechanic replace a third coil and put in new plugs for those coils. All three coils are on the backside of the engine which is more labor intensive to get to and thus more costly. So now if anymore coils go bad, they should be the old ones in the front. The car is not due for a tune up for another 40,000 miles.

Yeah, guess I won't be bragging about how I never get sick for awhile now. This is the first cold I've had since I retired in 2009. I just wish I would get a cold like other people do and without the threat of bronchial pneumonia. I did feel better today, however I will probably "lay low" until this thing is gone.

Unfortunately my wife isn't doing as well as me. She has a doctor's appointment again on Friday when they will check her oxygen saturation levels and her heart again. She slept most of the day today.

This is a nice ability to have. My mind is going in hundreds of directions at one time. I can hardly remember my own name, much less someone else's. I write all my workouts down or I'd have no idea what I was doing or how much weight I lifted. You might think this is a condition of age, but it isn't. I was actually much worse when I was younger. I was a terrible student in school, although I managed to get decent grades most of the time.

On the flip side, I can remember things that happened to me when I was a very young child. I remember almost all the street addresses of everywhere I lived. I remember what cars my parents had and when they had them. I remember occasions and experiences whether good or bad in minute detail. Lately, I've run into people I haven't seen for some time and I actually remembered their names....so there is hope for me yet.

Today, people like me are diagnosed ADHD. When I was young, people just said I didn't pay attention or was daydreaming. When my IQ was tested as a kid, the results showed that I had a fairly high IQ which baffled my instructors.

No one ever thought I was slow. What they thought was that I was lazy and didn't pay attention. I am not convinced today's tendency to label everyone with some kind of disorder is a benefit to them. My grandson has a near genius IQ and he is also ADHD. In addition, like me he can be lazy, preferring to socialize with his friends then to study. Also like me, his grades are all over the place. If something interests him and challenges him, he will ace it. When something seems uninteresting and unchallenging, he barely passes the class.

Both my son and my daughter were excellent students in school. My son graduated 2nd in his class, salutatorian. He went to a very large high school with many students. This was quite an achievement. Our daughter discovered boys while she was in high school. Her grades were very good, but not as good as her brother's.
