You guys make all these excuses for Cain but also fail to realize that Werdum has become a force of nature these past 6 fights.

He's gonna be very tough to beat.

This was my opinion of the matchup from earlier this week (on the MMA board)

Its a tough fight to call: Cain has had another long layoff due to injury, so who knows if ring rust will play a factor.  A few years ago, I would have said Cain would have probably won easily, due to Werdum's lack of a standup game (remember when he constantly fell to the ground and tried to pull Overeem into his guard)

Werdum appears to have significantly improved his striking game. He is currently on a five fight win streak coming off of the knockout win against Mark Hunt. He has always been one of the best BJJ practitioners in the world, and Cain could easily get subbed if he isn't careful.

Cain should keep the fight standing as long as possible, and only go for takedowns to get points, and only stay on the ground if he maintains a dominant position. All of the wrestling ability in the world will not prevent someone from tapping out.

Should be an interesting fight.

are you trolling

you basically sat on the fence so you could claim you were right no matter what happened

you don't know the fight game

nothing wrong with that just don't pretend you do

I never said I picked the winner  ???  Besides, picking winners has a lot to do with being lucky. At that level of fighting, either man could win.  It's a 50/50 coin flip.

P.S. stop trying to constantly pick a fight with people.  ;)

I am not picking a fight its an opinion

I assume you posted it because you thought it made you look good

there is really no other reason to copy and paste you own posts

that you think picking fights is 50/50 proves my point

thanks  8)

Hahaha......Picking fights at the elite/championship level, is 50/50. I'm sure that Cain was the favorite to win that fight, but he didn't.

When you are top fighter in a division, you absolutely have a chance at beating the champ.  Why do you think that so many people are saying that McGregor has a solid chance? There are two fighters that enter a ring. 50/50 odds that you will pick the winner (not talking betting odds)

Its the prefight analysis of the fighters, that proves if you know anything about MMA. I think my analysis was solid.

the lack of footwork on these guys is shocking, they mostly stand their with their feet planted on the ground like statues...
cain should be renamed the mexican zombie, they make it sound like "going forward all the time" is a good thing... dude is dumb as a brick and moves like a refridgerator.
werdum got a good reach and is really good connecting and finding angles but he could win a lot by moving more.

also i thought melendez clearly lost his fight shouldnt even have been a split decision. if he cant beat alvarez who only can see with one eye, then how the hell does he expect to be able to beat him... he gassed in the 2nd round

top 10 heavyweights - werdum, cain, junior, stipe, arlovski, travis, barnett, hunt, rothwell, overreem, mir, nelson, bigfoot, mitrione, struve, alexay (who?)

thats one weak division... doesnt junior have a glass jaw by now? hunt most be on his way out... so is mir and nelson and bigfoot... and struve...
half the guys will hardly fight any more. the other half... who is gonna be able to defeat werdum? barnett ?

i dont expect him to be on a world class boxing level but common now.. boxers go 12 rounds, used to be 15 back in the day... this dude is done after 2 rounds... he has no footwork, he cant put a combination together, he get hit all the time from every angle possible, just walking into punch after punch... yeah he's a heavy dude and im sure some of his kicks hurt but werdum was able to grab his foot with both of his hands, thats not a very snappy kick... he can take a punch and im sure he hits pretty hard but you dont have to stand in front of him (someone should tell that to werdum) and nobody can say that cain is the fastest guy in the world so even if he comes after you how about moving outta the way... i dont know man.
the heavy weight division of mma is not something to brag about, it really isnt.

He needs to work with a slick, crafty boxer like James Toney in order to take his MMA game up to a respectful level.

i do like werdum though, i read he only started training at age 20, he's 37 years now and doesnt have as boxers background yet he brought up late in his career to a level when its at least on par with anyone else in the division... he doesnt look like a natural heavy weight either id guess he fought as a lighter guy earlier in his career... he gone very far considering that.
