He never actually filed for personal bankruptcy, but several companies that were partly or entirely owned by him or that had his name on them did file BK.

I bought a few hundred shares of his casino in 2007 when they decided to put it on the auction block. Someone  agreed to buy it, but Chairman Trump and the board turned the offer down because they believed it was worth more and the stock tanked. I sold out and lost a couple of grand before it fell below $10 (it had been in the mid teens when I bought it), and it eventually became worthless.
