I feel the need to balance out the euphoria in here around ETH…..

Anyhoo, I did say ETH bottoms in April and/or November. We got April (my calculation was 10d after the actual bottom).

I did a quick search of your posts — in January you said ETH still had about two months of bleeding to BTC. So I guess that’s close enough.

You probably still have 2mths of gib flinging shit at you about ETH.

For the record, I’m not euphoric about ETH’s current price action. It’s just recovering from a level it never should’ve touched in April. That drop was largely due to the Bybit hack. The price started tanking three days after, and to rub salt in the wound, the hackers dumped all the stolen ETH for BTC. ETH moved like a shitcoin during that stretch.

In my view, ETH should already be trading in the $10k–$20k range. If it only hits $7.5k, that would reflect failure, fear, and a lot of self-inflicted FUD.

As for ETH vs BTC, we’ll likely see phases where one outperforms the other — just like in previous cycles. But history never repeats exactly. Some say it rhymes. Time will tell.

The US government under Biden tried to kill Ethereum, because it is a bigger threat to Tradfi than Bitcoin.

Danny Ryan says he was served by the SEC the moment the merge on ETH completed.

Bitmine Plans To Invest Over $2 Billion In Ethereum with Stock Sale

Bitmine plans to increase its Ethereum holdings from $2 billion to $4.5 billion through a stock sale.

Bitwise predicts $20 billion in institutional ETH investment over the next year, and Bitmine would represent over one-fifth of this.

Bitmine was initially a Bitcoin mining firm, but this industry has become less profitable in recent months.

Sam Tabar is the CEO of BitDigital, and they mined BTC for years. They are still mining but have pivoted toward ETH. They said they will continue mining BTC until it is no longer profitable, at which point they'll shut down the machines—after which they’ll essentially become paperweights. He had a meeting with Michael Saylor who told him BTC mining is a shit business and that he should just buy BTC instead. He told Saylor he agreed with him, but that he will buy ETH instead. Saylor gave him a dirty look and the meeting went south after that.  ;D

He talks about it in this video.

Good video! Some interesting points:

- Saylor mentioned bitcoin mining is a 'shit business.'
- Tabar agrees, difficult to make a profit, could see more bitcoin mining pivoting to ETH or closing down.
- Saylor holding 2-3% of Bitcoin.
-  This poses a 'giant key man risk.'
- ETH Strategic Reserve is at least split between many competing players and ownership is far less centralised.
- Saylor telling Tabar 'ETH is going to zero' shows he's just a regular delusional maxi.

On a side note, Saylor was also one of those claiming 'ETH is a security' and siding with Gensler in his witch hunt against Ethereum and Consensys.

Joe Lubin has mentioned in several interviews that they were 'advised' to keep quiet which is why the Ethereum Foundation, Consenys and other ETH projects had to be punching bags for the past few years as they were unable to defend themselves.

Lubin also said the Biden administration were actively trying to destroy Ethereum and defi, and they were facing constant harassment from the SEC. Even receiving a subpoena. He says regular ETH developers were worried about receiving subpoenas!

Gensler and the SEC under his watch did a HUGE amount of damage to Ethereum, which is now having to play catch-up for several lost years.

Good summary!

https://cryptorank.io/news/feed/868c8-sec-atkins-declares-eth-is-not-a-security

SEC’s chair Paul Atkins says that Ethereum is not a security

Paul Atkins, chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has clarified that Ethereum is not a security. He said that securities laws will not apply to Ethereum. However, the SEC is yet to take a formal stance.

According to Atkins, the SEC is informally classifying Ethereum in the same category as Bitcoin, branding them as commodities. He said, “Similar to Bitcoin, I mean the SEC has stated informally more than formally that Ether is not a security. And so but it’s obviously the ETH blockchain is a very key component for a lot of other digital currencies.”

$4,000 Is Ethereum's Last Hurdle Before Price Discovery, Says Galaxy Digital's Mike Novogratz

  • The CEO believes reduced ETH supply and new ETH treasury firms will help push Ethereum ahead of Bitcoin in coming months.
  • Galaxy Digital’s ETH inflows surged in mid-2024, aligning with a broader trend of institutional accumulation in Ethereum.

"If ETH takes out 4,000, it goes into price discovery," Novogratz said. "The market was really short ETH, and now we have major treasury companies raising capital and buying Ether. There's not a lot of supply."

"The narrative of ETH is really powerful. There's not a lot of supply of ETH. I think ETH outperforms BTC in the next 6 months." - Mike Novogratz

Meanwhile they've sold almost a $1 billion BTC, possibly pivoting to ETH?

Joseph Chalom from Blackrock joins SharpLink Gaming as Co-Ceo:

After 20 years at BlackRock and helping to lead its digital asset strategy, I’m beginning a new chapter:

I’ve joined @SharpLinkGaming as Co-CEO.

Here’s why.

At BlackRock, I helped launch:

- IBIT — world’s largest Bitcoin ETP
- ETHA — world’s largest Ethereum ETP
- BUIDL — world’s largest tokenized fund (built on Ethereum)

We didn’t just talk about digital assets, we bridged TradFi and crypto.

Now, I’m joining @SharpLinkGaming, a company led by @ethereumJoseph and built on a clear belief:

That Ethereum is becoming the foundation of global finance.

And I couldn’t agree more.

Stablecoins, tokenized assets, AI agents, are all moving onchain.

And it’s happening on Ethereum.

That’s where the future is being built.

SharpLink is already one of the largest corporate holders of $ETH.

Our goal is not just to hold $ETH, but to activate it, using native staking, restaking, and Ethereum-based yield strategies.

All to increase the value of our treasury and create long-term shareholder value.

We’re building a bridge between institutional capital and Ethereum-native yield, packaged in a single public equity.

The asset is $ETH, the ticker is $SBET.

They are going to Eth because it is proof of stake and centralised, and thus controllable by these large jewish institutions who can accrue enough stake. Bitcoin mining will always tend to price out inefficient miners in expensive countries in favour of efficient miners who have cheap or renewable energy. These funds see bitcoin as an investment, not as a financial tool they can control which is ethereum.

First maxis say ETH will never get a spot ETF cos it's a security and big money only want BTC. They were completely wrong.

Now maxis are saying its the "jews" buying ETH. Hilarious

Meanwhile I posted over a couple of years back that ETH would be classed as a commodity and the ETH ETF would start to find buyers when rate cuts are close, people go extreme risk on and staking is allowed. All this stuff is close and buyers are predictibly coming. Maxi cope = The Jews are buying.

Meanwhile Saylor owns 3% of BTC supply.

As Tabar mentioned (whose company stopped mining BTC because it was no longer profitable), this creates a major 'key man risk.'

The Strategic ETH Reserve is so far made up of 63 participants who altogether own 1.92% of the total supply.

That's a lot of BS you talked. ETH is more decentralized than BTC. BlackRock manages a lot of BTC for their clients, with the ETF trust holding over 738,000 BTC, or around 3.51% of the "hypothetical" 21 million fixed Bitcoin supply. There is no guarantee that the cap won't be lifted, or tail emissions added to keep BTC miners solvent in the future.

BlackRock was founded in 1988 by Larry Fink, Robert S. Kapito, Susan Wagner - those three are all Jewish. Jews are just as much into Bitcoin as they are into Ethereum. One of Solana's founders is Jewish - from Ukraine.

Ethereum has outperformed BTC by 7.22x since it launched in 2015. Actually more, if you consider that 1 BTC was required to purchase 2000 ETH. 1 BTC now trades for around 30 - 31 ETH. That's a 66-67x outperformance.

Ethereum Launches Own 'Ether' Coin, With Millions ...

CoinDesk
Jul 23, 2014 — Ether can currently be purchased at a set rate of 2,000 ETH per 1 bitcoin. The price will stay at this rate for two weeks and then linearly ...

ETH's current market cap is more than double BTC's 2020 market cap, and ETH is 6 years younger than BTC. It is a great store-of-value!

180 Life Sciences Rebrands as ETHZilla, Raises $425M for Ethereum Treasury

180 Life Sciences, a NASDAQ-listed company, has announced a strategic shift to position itself as a major player in the cryptocurrency sector.

The biotech firm is transitioning from its traditional life sciences operations to an Ethereum treasury reserve model, having raised $425 million through an upsized private placement led by digital asset leaders such as Electric Capital, Polychain, and GSR.

The funds will be used to purchase Ethereum (ETH), with the company planning to amass a substantial crypto reserve. This move aligns with a growing trend of corporations leveraging blockchain-based assets to hedge against macroeconomic uncertainties and diversify their treasuries.

Fundamental Global announces $200M Ethereum treasury strategy

Fundamental Global Inc., rebranding as FG Nexus, announced a $200 million Ethereum treasury strategy on July 28, 2025, coinciding with Ethereum’s 10th anniversary. This move triggered a 76.66% premarket surge in the company’s shares, reflecting strong market optimism about institutional adoption of the cryptocurrency.

The strategy, detailed in official filings, involves allocating a significant portion of corporate capital to Ethereum, positioning it as a viable reserve asset alongside traditional holdings. Major Wall Street participants support the initiative, underscoring Ethereum’s growing legitimacy in corporate finance.
