Perry moves up in latest Iowa caucus poll
« on: June 18, 2015, 09:42:12 PM »
Many of us predicted his 2016 meteoric rise before it began.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker still seems to lead among Republican Iowa caucus-goers, but Rick Perry moved into solid middle ground in the latest poll released Thursday evening.

The Advantage Inc. poll, commissioned by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, shows a little jockeying going on in the big field, as reported by the Iowa Republican newsletter.

Here are a few caveats about the poll: it was an automated telephone poll where people responded by pushing buttons, which is not an optimal method of polling. And it was conducted right after Perry formally announced his candidacy and was traveling in Iowa, so he was receiving a lot of publicity at the time, which also affects those giving answers.

On the other side, 1,235 former caucus goers completed the polls, which is a strong sampling where result could vary plus or minus 2.8 percent in either direction.
