Wow what a joke, embarrassing for Shamrock to cut a deal to loose to this clown. Must be down on his luck.

Shamrock was not even trying. Clearly released the choke about 5 times, then fumble's around when he lets kimbo up for a KO........... LOL!!!!!!!!

Kimbo starting to look like Big Country.

Full RNC with the hooks in and Kimbo escaped without any type of defensive move.

That "fight" was a work.

Kimbo was fucking gassed 5 seconds into the fight. Look how effortlessly Kimbo get's out of the full locked in back choke hold. Just "Rolls" out of it because he's to gassed to make any kind of effort & Shamrock completely lets go because I think he forgot that he needs to loose this one.

Does it have to be a two- or three-count tap to qualify? He definitely one-tapped.
That's what I thought. Looks like Kimbo changed his mind after the first tap, or just put his hands on the mat as a reflex to the choke.

This fight was a complete work. I think Bellator wanted to boost Kimbo's MMA CV and decided that by knocking out a "legend" it would help set the stage for future Kimbo fights against younger talent.

It shouldn't surprise anyone, as Shamrock has been known to work fights all throughout his career. Keeping in mind that Ken is 51 years old, he isn't going to fight for any titles and is at a severe disadvantage against the vast majority of fighters in his weight class.

Think back to the Rich Franklin fight, where he took a clear dive and because he didn't time himself right, he tried to recover by going for one of his trademark "ankle locks".

Bellator officials probably told them both that it needs to go to the ground for a bit, so that Kimbo can appear to be struggling, but no grip should be so tight as to cause a tapout or even too much exhaustion.

Then, once they're up, Ken is to take what appears to be the only real shot delivered (the hook that actually put Shamrock out). Ken is a veteran and he could have easily had his hands up as to not take such a perfect shot, but he didn't and I think that was premeditated.

This makes for an easy pay day.

The only question is: Did Big John have foreknowledge that this fight was a worked match?

It was definitely a worked match.

I remember when these 2 were supposed to fight back in 2008.

Ken Shamrock hurt his hand in the warm-up room. Ken then pulled out of the fight.

Ken's brother, Frank, said that Ken faked the injury.

I think Big John knew, but just didn't give a fuck. Big John has been around MMA for a very long time and is also a black belt in JiuJitsu. For Ken to not tap Kimbo with his rear naked choke is just a fucking joke.

At this time in his career and in his advanced age in fighting-years, Ken doesn't fight to win , just to get paid.

It's all about the money.

He stopped fighting competitively long ago.

Wonder how much his biggest payday was for a dive.

Ken would make for a great professional soccer player.

Wonder what Shamrock made to take a dive? What does he do at 51 to make money at this point, besides taking the occasional dive.

Going on the premise it wasn't staged- It's a real eye opener for someone who just turned 53 to see one of the most renowned MMA fighters who had a lot of experience and skill look so bad. I consider myself to be in fairly good shape but obviously Ken is in much better condition and couldn't finish a RNC, and made a choice to try and scramble up when staying on his back, it would be likely Kimbro would back off and let him up. But instead he gets caught trying to stand by a much heavier opponent. The illusion I had of my present condition (I feel 35) has been permanently busted.. which is probably a good thing in the long run.

He could train with Chelsea for a couple of weeks and learn the ropes. First lesson: How to impersonate the a dying soldier hit by an IED at close range, when someone's finger brushes your hair.

Eh, I don't know. Is Franklin in on the first fix? And I can't see Big John participating knowingly in any of this shit. He has way too much invested in the sport, and I can't imagine him doing anything to undermine its credibility.

And why would Ken eat the monster shot that rips his forehead open? Divers don't normally volunteer for such damage.

I was thinking the EXACT thing.

The guy is probably the most respected and well known ref in the business. He's been around since the 2nd or 3rd UFC event!

He was looking right at Kimbo during that choke hold. I think John disregarded that initial "tap" because it could have just been his hand coming down but if he had tapped the mat just one more time John would have called the fight and declared Shamrock the winner.

no way he should have stopped it on that first "tap" to ambiguous. John handled it well.
