He was voted the greatest bodybuilder of all time but no longer looks like he lifts weights. End of story. He isn't in good shape for his age. I have

never looked that small. My calves are 17 3/4 cold and I don't even train them.

he looks like he lifts and eat healhty. You dont look like you lift or lifted weights at all, you re just...fat. You re completely delusional and obviously jealous. You probably convince yourself you re "bigger" than him, but you re just fatter. No one would want to look like you, any man would prefer to look like him instead of you reaching his 70s. Also, he looks way better facially than you, with your bloated moronic moonface and fat , round nose.

We are comparing Frank to everyone in bodybuilding. Frank had surgery on his shoulders recently so we will see if he can get into shape again. He looks small in

the video. Btw, his gym equipment is simple compared to most of the things I built.

Vince,

Just out of curiosity, should gym equipment be complicated? Their purpose is to aid you in resistance training and there are only so many ways to work a muscle.

I think that when it comes to gym equipment, things should be kept simple, as most gyms will probably not want to purchase the equipment if its operation is so complicated that it would serve as a deterrent to gym members using it.

Bingo . . . vics equipment would be in constant need of re-adjustment. It would take a manfactures rep to assemble it and lets just wait for a part to be delivered. vic once posted he told Roz he'd be a millionaire, well vic Frank is several times over.

OMR, you are correct simple design keeps manufacturing costs down, shipping cheaper and keep overall production costs as low as can be. vic has no fucken idea as to what he is talking about.

Gym equipment should be as simple or as complicated as the movement dictates. You cannot make a machine that has resistance in two degrees of freedom simple. At best you simplify the complexity. That is always desirable

in engineering. Re the topic here, Frank has come up with simple apparatus and nothing resembling a machine at all. No moving parts. So there is no comparison to what I have designed and built.

the only difference between then and now is that they trained naturally for a lot longer before hitting the juice. Also the juice at the time didnt make their bodies balloons like nowadays stack. Aside from this, there s nothing much to learn it s a pretty blank interview and zane seems a bit full of himself. Most of his statements are pretty lame too. When he says everybody look the same today, well everybody looked the same in the past too, cause it s entirely defined by the drug stack of the time and the kind of training. Each era has its "typical" kind of results/ bodies.

I d also add there are nowadays tons of natural or guys on low amounts of juice who look like he did and even better . They re all over the internet. Tons of pictures of guys who train intensely natural or on low amounts of the same kind of juice he used and look as if not more impressive than he ever did.

The more i listen to these old farts the more i realize they have pretty much nothing to say or teach you cant learn by yourself especially in this day and age of the internet.

Yes, arnold trained for ages before he started slamming gear ::)

Frank is knowledgeable for sure. However, things have changed since he last competed. He said it took time for him to win the Mr Olympia. Yes, with Sergio banned and Arnold retired. He still beat a lot of good guys like

Robby and Mike. Statements about the current guys all looking the same is preposterous. Most have a certain look but Kai looks nothing like Phil or Rami or Shawn. You can't get that huge in a couple of years. I give credit to everyone who

gets huge.

When Arthur Jones started his Nautilus company there was a lot of interest in his complicated machines. Someone told Arthur about how he could simplify one of his machines and was told that he liked them complex! Of course, Nautilus eventually made things simpler and even abandoned those awful chains. Arthur wrote a lot about the advantages of his machines and I guess it helped that they were seen an complex. It helped people accept more of what he was saying. In other words, since his machines provided rotary resistance, balanced resistance, and especially resistance that changed according to strength curves they had to be complicated. The more complex the machines were the harder they were to copy as well. I know I was curious about trying his machines to see if they were in sync with my strength curves and found them not to be anything like I imagined. Arthur marketed his machines in a way that made them superior to what anyone else was selling. Eventually the bodybuilders discovered that some were okay but they weren't necessarily better than even free weights. When I was at Golds Gym in 1991 they had lines of gym equipment donated by equipment companies. Surprisingly, the Nautilus machines were in the second, smaller room, of that Mecca and it was easy to get on them because hardly anyone used them.

When you design a new piece of gym equipment you have goals in mind. It has to function properly and pivot in the right places, etc. It has to be adjustable for all individuals. It has to look good and be safe to use. It has to be strong and built to last. It has to be easy to replace worn parts. It has to be stable on the floor. When you consider these points and others it isn't easy to make good equipment. When you do build a new machine you then have to test it and make changes. By about the 3rd version you are close to having what you set out to do.

Frank is over the hill, especially after destroying his shoulders from decades of excessive training. It remains to be seen whether he can look like a bodybuilder again.

You are delusional. Zane still looks great for his age. Look at his calves. They are bigger and shaped nicely and bigger than some current Olympia competitors.
