Ray Liotta repeatedly pistol whipping the Jewish guy that assaulted Karen in Goodfellas.

Joe Pesci, grabbing a pen, and stabbing the rude guy in the throat repeatedly in Casino.

Best two fights I've seen...opening slugfest between the two superheroes in WATCHMEN and the fight in the bathroom between Viggo Mortensen and the Russian mobsters in EASTERN PROMISES

two recent ones come to mind:

1. from the avengers, the first fight aboard the avenger's home ship (can't remember the name of it). incredible blend of computer graphics and live action, way beyond anything else i had seen at the time.

2. colin firth's rampage in kingsman: the secret service. again, this one blew me away with the live action / cg blending. for the first time, i saw a new form of seamless, prolonged "fast motion" fight scene. already copied by the latest mad max movie.

i recall how dated the dark knight rises felt after seeing the first avenger's movie. christian bale's clunky fight scenes were so boring... after seeing kingsman, i felt the same way about the second avengers movie -- they got one-upped.

I agree, but it seemed more realistic than all the CGI stuff.

Some of the best hand-to-hand fight scenes I've seen recently were in CA the Winter Soldier. The elevator fight scene stands out in particular. IMO, they were much better than most hand-to-hand fight scenes in the new Avengers movie.

Pretty much all the ass whippings the dude in The Raid handed out.
