yulin dog meat festival in China
« on: June 21, 2015, 05:47:32 AM »
Luckily most of China seem to be against this now, with most dog and cat meat restaurants dying out as people see them as companions not food and comdemn the actions.

I'm against eating companion animals. But vegans' outrage seems hypocrite to me. If it's cute, then it's bad to eat it, but I never hear outrage about eating seafood, oh yeah, they're not cute enough.  ::)

It seems their are more and more morons these days that play favorites with animals, ridiculously creating some animal hierarchy of importance in their own minds.  People don't think twice about poisoning a rat or a mouse and wish they were extinct, yet they will kill a human if they harmed their dog.  I think it is a mental illness to become overly attached to any animal.  Besides this, the pet industry is one of the most inhumane industries going, at least farmed animals don't go to waste, the pet industry breeds so called companion animals to surplus, only to destroy the excess and then they rinse, wash and repeat indefinitely.

And gullible morons buy into the lie they are saving some poor animals life by adopting one from the shelter when all they are doing is supporting a system that deliberately places the animals in that situation to begin with.  The pet industry will continue doing so the whole time their is a human desire to enslave and make dependent some poor unnatural animal that has had all it's natural independence and survival instincts bred out of it to suit human vanity needs.  Yet another perversion of modern society.

I'm not clicking the link cause it fucking enrages me, and it's not so much the type of animal that pisses everyone off, it's the treatment they are subjected too. Those stupid Chinese bastards have a disgusting, apathetic culture of treating animals like absolute shit. And I feel the same way about the intensively farmed meat industry in my own country.
I take it your a vegan then.

Unless I have killed the animal myself then I don't eat meat, and I believe that buying free range, locally produced eggs and cheese is more beneficial than avoiding it altogether.
Most of the time I eat kangaroo meat (I live in Australia).  These are killed in their natural habitat and free from the bullshit that goes along with farmed animals.  I buy free range eggs, but I still don't trust the fucks and suspect even free range is as corrupted as any other food industry.  Personally, I don't feel much at all when it comes to animals, I barely give a fuck about humans. Having said that, I do believe in humanely treating animals up until the time we decide to murder them for their resources.

But back to the pet industry, the mistreatment might not be overt, but any decent person has to question the ethics of the pet industry as a whole and those who support it.  Is it really ethical to take an animal that is more than capable of being fully self sufficient and turning it into a near helpless dependent animal all just to suit the needs of humans.  I understand using them for utilitarian purposes, that makes complete sense, but to breed them just so some wanker can feel good about himself seems utterly moronic to me, and when you consider how many unwanted animals have to die just to keep this whole system going, pet ownership by proxy only contributes to needless animal suffering. This doesn't even factor in the the weird genetic abnormalities some breeds suffer from because of shady breeding practices or creating designer dogs. JMO

some animals have spirits.. some dont...

if they can raise dogs then they have plenty of room to raise enough chickens to feed everyone
