I prefer cowbells.
I sometimes do front or side raises with them when I get bored with dumbbells.
Using one is a bit on the homoerotic side.
i used to have a coach that had us train with them, doing Turkish get ups and all other sorts of gimmicky exercises. I'm not a fan. I found no unique benefit to them and found conventional olympic lifts and dumbbell work to be more useful.

is there a place for one or two kettlebells in a homegym? i cannot buy a whole bunch of them would take up the whole place
