South Carolina should be commended.

In the wake of such a horrible tragedy you see a state and a community come together in a manner unmatched by other places in the country.  Unlike Ferguson and Baltimore who's tragedies pale in comparison this place showed the entire country how to pull together for families and community.  They have truly set a superb example.

Not really. Two different scenarios.

Ferguson and Baltimore involved the shooters being police.

In SC, the shooter was a civilian.

There is usually less outcry when a civilian kills someone, as opposed to a police officer.

Apples and oranges.

As you know, a cop did shoot a black guy in the back a couple months ago in SC.

Things could've been a lot worse in that scenario

this was a case of true racism and shit could have gotten ugly quick but it didn't and that's the point I'm trying to make

Sometimes shit stuff should be allowed to continue standing, to remind us of our heritage, and to serve as a warning to others. If that were not the case, God would put Shizzo in a wheelchair.

It was put up in the 60's as a big fuck you to desegregation and the civil rights era. It doesn't have anything to do with SC history.
